Limiting access to seed-runs, auctions & fundraisers

Thanks, it’s like howling to the moon, it has been already decided somewhere and now John Doe living in Wonderland has to fill something to be able to bid … frech|nullxnull

In reality the person receiving the seeds has more risk in terms of exposure then the person sending, and that’s only if they use there actual address or one linked to them. I would assume that most people sending or receiving seeds don’t use there actual name or address in the return section.

So now we have a basic user making bids (Tejas), just 6 posts, looks like a specialist:

Is this the kind of members we want in our community or as long as he pays everything’s OK? ejem|nullxnull

To be fair, the very first auction on OG was won by a member who has almost never posted, before, or since. Still logs in now and then tho.

And there’s even no “basic profile info” as requested, we don’t respect our own rules … :disappointed:

This member won one lot in the Heritage Farms auction (out of 14 slots)
and is currently bidding on one lot in Zephr’s Fundraiser.

And this member is also polite, “… Anyway I look forward getting these going, thanks Heritage Farms! …”

I don’t see this as a problem.

That has been discussed before, here and here.
And, the rules as posted and administered by HeritageFarms for his auction, here.

The problem is basically he is NOT a member as you say, just a basic user, rules I mentioned were inserted in an add I posted before, so OG rules …

just comes to the auctions and politely outbids OG members, if you don’t see any problem with that, cool, no use speaking about it … :sunglasses:

I don’t understand. OG rules that you posted? For whom to follow, OG?

No, it’s not a problem. And, yes, that member has been polite.

Tag him into the conversation if you question his intentions

This are OG rules:

And actually I have lost my bid because another “basic users” (stop calling them members, which they aren’t) YoBigdaddy, another “specialist”, has no introduction post nor basic info, just 5 posts, guess where?

so the only requirement to participate is to have enough money

You still think that after checking this two “members”?

All seriousness aside that might be the most @Northern_Loki response I’ve ever seen anyone else ever post :joy::rofl: I love both of you guys

I don’t question their intentions, which are crystal clear for me, I question their right to participate in an auction, and that is something they don’t concern them as they are not members of this community … :sunglasses:

If you’re talking about the :dolphin: guy he has been here 2 years and has a grow journal going

No, that guy was outbided by a basic user, so he outbided me to have the same strain the other took … :sunglasses:

Also in all fairness before rules were changed I was here like 3 days and was signing up for seed runs lol now that I think about it I haven’t seen any new people random free seed request posts since the auctions started

So we still feed the vultures but at least they pay something? Cool …

And, the person you complain about had already completed those requirements.

Ya know George, this has been explained. I think we are at like … twenty times. You don’t have a say on what the rules for an auction are, unless you are the one who is directly involved auctioning something. Are you auctioning something?

And that’s seems to be root of the issue, you’re upset that you keep getting outbid.

It’s an auction. You win some, you lose some. That’s how they work.

Their intent is to win at an auction.

This is starting to become a campaign. Simple. Stay out of the auctions, don’t bid and your outbid problems will be solved. Or, wait for the auction that has the ‘rules’ that you are comfortable with. EOM.

i get your point George was just like a :bulb:moment for me I just realized that I hadn’t seen the request for seeds posts in a while

No, don’t do this.

If someone appears malicious, inform the admin or TeamOG. Or, flag the post. Someone bidding in an auction is not being malicious. If you suspect a shill, that can be adjudicated by the moderation team who’ll have access to additional information.

I was just trying to say don’t talk about someone without them knowing … I would be pissed if I came across people talking about me scrolling one day months later
