Mag Landrace

strong textWas wondering if any of you all have any experience in growing Mag Landrace strain? I bought an eight at the dispo a year ago and it had a few seeds so I have started this grow and we will see what they bring!
I was wondering why they look so different from each other?
The seeds came out of 1 bud not all the buds in the jar. So any help is good !! Thank a everyone!

Working with landraces and more specifically open-pollinated / wild / preservation run landraces and the resulting bag seeds there will always be a lot of variabilities with the progeny as there is likely more than one father’s pollen that was inseminated into any given flower. Each 12-30 micron grain of pollen carries thousands of lines of genetic code, each male can produce billions of grains of pollen and they have been known to travel and remain viable for years up to 200 kms from where it was released.

Sexual propagation of cannabis is tricky for these reasons, pollen stays around and viable for a long time. It is likely that if your plants continue to be very different from each other you might have a who’s your daddy type situation however if they are similar in some ways and different in others this is more than likely to be different pheno expressions of the same combined genetics.

The only real way to find out is to finish them, I have clones that don’t look like their parents until they have their adult structure so they could eventually become much more similar.

Interested to see how you make out Mr, keep up the good work.

Thank you for the info and I’m glad to have you around! This will be fun! I absolutely love the flower of mag landrace so I hope I get close to what I got in the jar!

Youll be surprised. Being dispo weed i doubt it was grown outdoor. Controlled enviro with fem cuts prob nothing from seed. Means those seeds will be self pollenation not a multi male open pollenation. You will probably have all female plants but watch for intersex. On the mag landrace is it verano or associated with? My man @Baltimore was really looking for beans of that mag. Was a guy greenblood on here claimed he “gbg” was the man for all theyre genetics. But i dont think anyone ever got a seed of anything he "showcased " got you a good one i bet you can do better than what they grew with it. Youll see. Just watch for balls and keep clones. I predict your closet mag blows dispo mag away.

I got it from a jar of verono, I’m not the best grower on here, I will keep clones of both and try as hard as possible to do these justice, I would appreciate it if you good fellas could help me thru this one?

It’s known as the “Magnificent Mile” aka MAG. Grown by Verano. I believe it originated in Illinois. It’s definitely Verano’s flagship strain. It’s labeled Iranian Landrace but there’s no way it’s a Landrace strain. There’s little info besides they keep the cut. Hopefully it gets out eventually. It’s nice they also Have a Mag 91. I lost interest knowing they hold they hold it. Have a good one.:v:

Oops. Sorry I see. You found some beans in 1/8. If you find the right pheno and say you get a female you’re probably more likely to get a female. I have a Gary Payton one seed one female one phenotype. It exhibits all the traits. But it’s not the one killer plant if that makes sense.

If they turn out to be really good you’ll have something nice on your hands right there. I haven’t seen any clothes out in about. Definitely stay in touch with me and rooted as well I’d love to even see it grown out. Good shit man. I have some Verano Gelato beans rolling around. Have a good one. I need to pay closer attention to previous posts.:+1:

I’m not going to lie. That’s awesome find right there man.

Yeah thats the roll of dice here cause im pretty sure its a selfed seed. Will be female but might herm. But just keep an eye. And reason i said clones is cause say 2/3 hermie. My experience is that 1 its clones stay solid.

Yep it’s an Illinois strain by verano. In my opinion verano and revolution are the best so far but I still have yet to find any real high quality weed here in the state from the medical clinic. I don’t think it’s the strain it’s the growers. They are not master gardeners.
Anyway apologize for rambling. I think Mag strain has tremendous potential

With so much negative stuff that could happen should I just kill these things or what? I’m like rethinking it now

Hey Corey, good to see you and yes I’ve done a lot of research on it. It has the potential for fantastic results. What do you have going?

Hey @Mr.Gritz. I started my indoor winter grow at the end of October after outdoor season was done. I’m allowed 5 plants over 5 inches.
I started 2 feminized trumpnutz, one orange goji, one orange goji x blackberry breath, and a mowi wowie cherry bomb. I am using my own supersoil recipe with organic drenches. Everything but the two trumpnutz turned male and after deciding on a keeper male for seed production with a well known and very talented member I decided to keep the orange goji male and knocked up one of the female trumpnutz for members here. I also have 2 pollinated orange Grove plants from seeds that a member here blessed me with also hit up by the orange goji male.
Plants are doing fine. They wreak of skunk, coffee, and oranges. So hopefully some good seeds to come to members in a couple of months. Then my outdoor season starts.
How about you what’s your handle?

Yup it is the growers. I built curio wellness. Its owned by an old man w a pothead daughter. Hes a large pharmacutical co owner. She just rolled dice w 30 mil of his money to build the aylesbury warehouse before the state even approved it. And thats plant 3 plant 1&2 are not at all public. That was the news article warehouse. They bought their way in n hired a no name guy just cause he was from co to run it. Relocated his family and spoon fed over 150,000 a year salary. These mfs waste money 82 gavitas per room. X 13 rooms although build was only for 8 rooms. Then they realize their wiring aint heavy enough for it. Carrier ac units on each room too. Producing tons of straight garbage. Verano same way. How they make extracts that my bud is stronger than ? The legal end of things is bringing in all the bs. Fake thc labels pharmacutical level cutting agents in extracts and more. They are making a killing and not even good at what they do. Like i said they all. All , bought thier way. It was a pay big up front deal. No actual knowledge or expertise was needed.

Yep I agree! Sorry but all these growers in Illinois don’t know how to grow quality herb. It’s all mid grade at top shelf prices.
Some of them get close with the looks and smell but the quality of the high 's not there!! They should have no business in growing mid level weed at top notch prices.
Until Illinois gives us good growers license at Super fair prices the public will continue to pay an arm and a leg for shit!!
