Master kush the hunt continues

The veg time is definitely much slower than many of the other cuts I have going like OGs and chems really but not too much slower than the trinity and LAPK I’m running, and I’d say faster than Urkle :joy:

A bit nute sensitive at first, but now she’s eating the same mix as the rest of my mommas, which is about 2.4 EC with base nutes, cal mag and silica using tap water that’s 0.1 EC before adding anything

And she gets so dense with her undergrowth beneath the tops so I am constantly pruning huge fans to help both airflow and light penetration, she bounces back and gets even bushier like it’s nothing every time

I had a few fans bigger than 8” saucers when she was much younger and just in a 1 gallon if that gives you an idea of how fat her leaves get lol

There is one pack left of Nirvana- Masterkush Regulars available on Attitude UK. Since he stopped making reg seeds a while ago at least the cut used will be old. If anyone is interested. I know inherently half the pool can’t be trusted due to Nirvanas pollination procedures but there should still be a leaner or if F2 hunted.

Interesting… would be cool to see what’s in there for sure.

Still would be cool to find out what seeds bodhi popped to make his “vintage master kush” female selection. And maybe a pic of his selection.

I found this picture of a Master Hashplant pheno someone found, looks pretty master-y to me

The nirvana master kush is Hindu crossed with skunk, im 99% certain the socal master kush is the hindu x Hindu version that was offered by sensi seeds. I’ve grown out more Hindu skunk beans then I can count and although the plant structure is similar I have never seen a plant that was anything like the socal master kush in regards to smell, taste or bud structure.
I still have some nirvana master kush beans along with the Gordo master kush but they are different lines then the master kush everybody grew in socal and the general early California medical scene.

Hey guys,

I have no idea what master kush is supposed to look like, but I did flower out a couple of Bodhi’s “Vintage Master Kush x Wookie15” phenos, known as Master of Muppets;

I wouldn´t read too much into different lineages given by several dutch legacy seed brands. In these days stuff being sold as „pure“ or „unhybridised“ sold better, so there was an incentive to label Masterkush as a pure Hindu Kush selection. Same thing with the dutch Durban Poison lines. Advertised as „never hybridised“, but they were crossed with Skunks.

For example in the year 2000 Dutch Passion listed Masterkush as an „F1 cross between two different Hindu-kush strains.“. In the same catalogue they state that their Durban Poison is „exclusively inbred, never hybridized, 100% Sativa“ and then state the flowering to take 8-9 weeks…

The Masterkush seems to be somewhat traceable from public information: In 1994 Greenhouse Coffeeshop entered it in the 7. Amsterdam High Times Cup and won first place in the Hydro category. In the next years it appears in the seed catalogues of several brands. The 1996 Positronics catalogue was the earliest I was able to find, but there may have been earlier listings. A former employee of Positronics founded Nirvana, took the Masterkush with him and gave a detailed description of it´s supposed inception: It was bred in a highrise tower in the Bijlmer district of Amsterdam and called Highrise before it was renamed to Masterkush. So it seems to me, that Masterkush originated within the Amsterdam coffeshop scene and that flowers of it circulated before seeds did.

Well I’m supposed to get a verified socal master kush in October but I’m not counting my eggs before they hatch. They are an extremely reliable source though who grew it back when it was commonly available and would know if it was her.
I also have the nirvana master kush seeds , if they would even germinate at this point and the gordo master kush as well.
I wish I had grabbed the sensi seeds white label version , which is still around at least last time I checked but who knows what the quality is now, sensi has not had the best reputation for quite some time.
I’ve mentioned it before but I have grown a countless amount of Hindu/skunk plants from seed and never saw anything like socal master kush pop up.
Cup winners vs seeds they sell after are often not the same thing , for example coal creek kush won a cup and now there are seeds but they are not at all what was entered in the competition.
I was at the emerald cup one year and was told by several old timers in the scene who was going to win that year and to grab beans before the prices got changed, low and behold that exact strain won and the beans went from $50 a pack to $400 as soon as the winner was announced.
The breeder sold a few cuts for 10k and then started giving them out after because he was sick of getting constantly bothered about it and now I hardly see anybody working with it.
I’m not going to go as far as to say the cup is rigged but there are certainly people who know things before they are anounced .

Idk a lot about different masterkush , but i do remember this tahoe master kush being the best i ever saw. The tahoe OG reminds me of master a little bit too. Just has a real kush gas in it. Damn its so good

Flavor and effects , green , pine , kush flavor, kinda floral green but mostly hash

Effects , just uplifting dank kush stone . Narcotic smoke

I’ve got the SoCal from Cloney in flower right now. Due to timing it is in my seed run being hit with my Sunburn males. Figured flip one and get an idea what it likes for my actual flower run. I’ll post some pics tonight when lights come on. It is on day 31 right now.

I just got a cutting of another Master Kush in the clone dome now. The person I got it from says he talked to notso and some other people, he says it looks like the cut floating around Oregon. We’ll see how that one goes. I got that and some Purple Hindu Kush from the dude.

got a couple pot of gold seedlings. is this different? maybe it should be, but is it really is what I mean?

i was told pot of gold is a mix of a lot of strains from humboldt and no one even really truly knows exactly what all is in it. i forget some of them by now. but i remember one strain being the hogs breath, humboldt og. and a few others maybe trainwreck could be in it. im sure theres some other story of what pot of gold is but thats what some1 told me. maybe theres two different pot of golds. bc what i looked up, hindu and skunk , thats definitely not pot of gold. that website said it was hindu skunk. that stuff was way different. funny sulphury odorous skunky taste.

idk if theres any master kush in that

i didnt really even know hindu was what is actually in master kush but that makes a lot of sense. LA confidential is another great strain that was hashy and kushy. need that too! lol

ive never grown it, but i like that fuel taste and it would be a great plant to reminisce on no doubt its legendary

Here is the SoCal Master Kush from Cloney

And Master Kush x Skunk from Mr Nice [Master Kush (Hindu Kush x Hindu Kush) x Skunk#1 (Afghan-Colombia-Mexican)]

All these completely covered in pollen right now. Just started really getting hit by the later flowering male.
Here’s a Master Kaze (Master Kush x Skunk #1 x Afghan Haze) by Shanti, SoCal Master Kush stripped, and SoCal Master Kush bush in the veg closet. The Kaze and stripped will be flipped in a week or 2 tops.
