With this project I hope to find a keeper in a pack of Space Monkey by Bodhi and Gigan by Terpfi3nd. In this hunt, good isn’t good enough. I want spectacular, something that checks every box. I want something that has vigor, washes well, smells and tastes great, and has a reasonable flower time. If I’m able to find a keeper in each pack, I plan to reverse one and cross the strains. I feel that based on the stated flavor profiles and lineages of each strain, that they would compliment each other well in a cross.

Quick update. A few of the seeds never made it above ground and some of them damped off. Now the count is 6 Gigans and 9 Space Monkeys. I also popped some Velvet Mints by Lit Farms and Motorbreath #15 x GMO by Berserker. I decided that I wanted more options for my breeding project. I’m going to narrow each strain down to 1-2 keepers and decide what I’m crossing based on the qualities of each. I also acquired a Dante’s Inferno clone. I have plans for a cross with it further down the line.

Quick update. Everything’s chugging along. Multiple pheno hunts going on. Sour 98 by Crockett Family Farms, Banana God by Masonic, Space Monkey by Bodhi, Gigan by Terpfi3nd.
I’m going to take clones and flip in a month or so. I also have some newcomers that I’m excited for. Tropical Gelato 2.0 by LIT, Rainbow Squishee by Clearwater, Lemon Party x Fallen Soldiers by CSI Humboldt, and Super Buff Cherry S1 by Force of Nature

Currently all of the plants are pushed to one side of the room so it’s looking like a jungle right now. In a week or so I’m going to move the smaller plants and seedlings to another room to veg. Then I’ll spread out the rest to fill out the room, hang up my other lights, and flip to flower. So far, there aren’t any standouts in the pheno hunts. A few are really stinky on the stem rub but other then that. They’re all about equal. I’m excited to see the differences in flower though.

Just another update. I added Sherbanger x Karma Sour Diesel and Dulce De Uva clones to the garden. Looking forward to flowering those out in the future.
The Space Monkeys are outperforming the Gigans by a lot. Phenos 2 and 4 of the space monkeys are standouts. Extreme vigor, great branching and internodal spacing. Number 2 is sweet cream on the stem rub. Number 4 has your typical veg smell on the stem rub (maybe a little rubber in there too) but it’s LOUD. You can even smell it when moving the plants around. I’m going to get my other lights installed sometime this week and will flip next week.
