Hey buddy, I believe you said you have had a bit of problems with aphids? Just a theory I have, but I truly believe my aspirin foliars every 3 weeks kept my plants mostly bug resistant (except caterpillars). After harvesting 9 of my monster plants, not a single one had bugs of any kind on them. I would be really curious to see if it was just coincidental. Maybe you could give it a try. I did these foliars on all my backyard plants and never an aphid or spider mite etc in site. My front rose planter had them though and none of those were foliared.

 Hello , ya you are probably correct. I should get on a biweekly foiler spray. I had thrips but managed to rid myself of them. Never have had Aphids. Let’s hope I never have those buggers :crossed_fingers:

What I had read was every 3rd week and followed this, although I don’t think biweekly would hurt. However, I only did this through veg, you can however water in as well for flower. It may just stave off your thrips or any other nasties. I’m pretty convinced it worked on mine.

Hey @Meesh could you explain your aspirin foilar feed too a no0b ? Heh  thx

2 crushed up aspirin to 3 gallons of water. Foliar is best but you can water in as well. The salicylic acid is supposed to make them more disease and bug resistant. I tried it on my whole garden this year, flowers, veggies and cannabis

Thanks I will try this out as well :+1:

Big thanks meesh!

I can also test this out on my vegging plants. I have to admit; I am bad. I don’t ever do foliar sprays . I’m gonna start from now on.

Do you notice much more growth or happiness in your plants ?

From what I’ve read, foliars deliver 20 times the amount of nutes to your plants as watering them in. Usually, I do water soluble kelp foliars and micronutrient foliars here and there as necessary or for boosts as needed.

The aspirin foliars didn’t increase growth, just strength and resistance on my cannabis. My veggies however showed visible happiness. I did see very little bug damage on any of my plants by seasons end. Even the japanese beetles didn’t destroy anything. Caterpillars did swoop in flower though, but that’s when I stopped the aspirin. Next year I will water in during flower and see if it helps with those bastards.

Sorry to hijack your thread @Mongobongo

Pfff cmon now. You are more than welcome to anytime you want. I’m digging the advice :v:

@Leaf if you want to see major happiness on your plants, foliar them with kelp. Seriously, god’s gift to plants! Dad was having some issues with his houseplants and I gave him some. He couldn’t stop raving about how much they love it! You can’t OD plants on kelp either.

So to keep it organic could you use willow bark or branch cuttings?

I believe the equivalent is Aloe. I’m generally organic, but 99 cents for aspirin is cheaper than aloe.

Awesome meesh! I’m gonna look into getting some kelp for foilar sprays  got some research to do heh :sunglasses:

Thanks for the info!

You are both correct, both produce Salicylic acid.

Aloe and Willow shoots can be used for cloning purps.
All the people that I know that used aspirin used it to take care of certain problems with there plants.
