I try to switch them to 12/12 as soon as they sprout a few hairs, but this time, I misjudged the timing/space available ratio, and already had too many plants in the grow room when a bunch of them reached that stage, so I had to keep them in the 18/6 room WAY too long. At the end, I had to give half of them to a friend. He put them in good light and they started growing like crazy.
The ones I kept were stunted on purpose for so long, I am still waiting to see if they will produce as good as previous ones.
Thanks for following my grow diary. It will be done in the next few weeks as the last plants are harvested.
As you can see, that side of the room is half empty. Ten of them are on the other side of the room where there is less light. Chances are good that these last eight will go into their drying phase just after the others are cut.
Plants on the darker side of the room, plus a couple of closeups of their buds… In about a week these will be harvested. They are not getting water now… they are starting on their road to drying:

Note: this plant is a bit of a Christmas miracle because I stopped giving it water a week ago along with the other nine plants that I planned to harvest this weekend. I wanted to let them start drying out while they were still planted. The other nine plants wilted and withered as you’d expect them to, but this one was still green and fresh looking. I decided to give it another small sip of water, so it could live a few extra days and help me celebrate Christmas. This is the first Christmas tree I’ve had in years.
The last Sunday of the year happens to be the very last step in my grow cycle. The nine trays of buds pictured last Sunday have been weighed and jarred and the “eight plants a-growing” plus my Christmas tree have been harvested and put in the drying trays. In a few days, they will also be weighed and jarred, but for all intents and purposes, this grow season is over for me.
It’s been fun and a lot of work. I will not be growing again for quite a while, if ever, but I will check in on OG now and then to see your funny memes and great pet (and bud) pictures. Thank you, all of you who followed my journey and offered help when I needed it.
In the meantime, have a great New Year, full of successful, bountiful harvests.
