My Bubble hash making tech

first up is the 25μm hash! I did a scale on the 40X to indicate half a millimeter in distance. Or 500micrometers/microns. See? Now I know what the measurements mean lol!

I put some measurements on the objects in the 100X photo, so you can see why they fell through the screen and got caught up at 25μm level.

Just slapped some generic scale on there. You get the picture, right? This crap is under 90μm but over 73μm.

The final slide! 90μm! I have to say, 90 and 73 are both definitely very dab-abbabbabale able.

There is a trichome in the 100X photo that is upside down with the thc part loose but still stuck in there. Sweet. I recognize the cores of those trichomes now as little orange-ish round cup things.

Know the benefit of having the halogen light in the microscope? It keeps me warm at night and heats my coffee up.

I am keeping those slides in their separate bags on the shelf. Try to avoid dust and damage. I will be coming back to them in order to study the trichome core in future viewings.

I gathered up all the wax hash and put it in the freezer. All hash goes into the freezer, for long-term storage. The plus side to the gathering process is that I make a hash blotter ball as well, then use it to scrounge up the last bits of hash stuck to the paper. I just roll a sticky ball over the bits over and over until they become one with the original ball.

those 2 balls are the same ball, just the second photo it’s been rolled over and over in more hash!

wax on, wax off…

can’t wait to rip that power ball! It’s probably 50% trichome cores by weight lol!

Hey @JoeCrowe if you didn’t have lofty microscope goals, now you do if you haven’t seen this:

heh heh yah some really nice computer generated video there. Probably spent quite a bit of time on the processing and taking 100 photos! You would have to read some documentation to pull it off. I would place the magnification at 4x objective in the video.

mighty fine job learning lots thanks for the details cheers <ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ#~

The bubble hash I made was a batch of king tut, so the yield was actually pretty good. I would have expected a larger piece out of the big bud. I smelled it and then I knew which kind it was! Tomorrow I am making another batch, I want to process all the freezer material into hash before the next harvest. I might succeed. The hash bags are freeze-drying as we speak…if you know what I mean. The contents will be vaped by me, except the 25μm, not sure what I’m going to do with that… perhaps decarb and ingest? see what happens? Sell it to moon men for 50$!!! The irony about the 25μm is that is the kind of nasty shit buddy makes all the time. Since I am using the exact same process as before, I should expect the exact same results… except with better bags sorting the outcome.

Thanks!
I am pretty sure you can learn things in this thread that you can’t anywhere else. At least not yet!

Anybody used a full-size clothes washer for bubble?

I have waaaaay :crystal_ball: too much work ahead of me.

if you have a team of ten men, or a couple of horses, you can use the 60 liter bags! How many keys of weed are we talking? Wet or dried?

I got a question: what the hell is that square of mesh for that’s included with the bags? Am I supposed to dry the hash on that thing?

Yeah, I believe it is 25 micron material for drying, see how it goes… I’m not sure if I was a fan, I might just try drying on parchment next time

I places paper towel under it and dropped the collected trichs on it. Fold it over (with paper towel on either side) and give it a light press.

Just take a bunch of water out before moving and drying.

My .02 at least

you supposed to squeeze all water out of the hash before drying, that
is the use of this square mesh

I heard it called a “blotter” by Bubbleman, iirc.

Enough to need a bigger washer  in both forms.

I do that to the bubblebags before removing resin-- no wait time! A cloth towel under the PT helps, as does a cool surface underneath(cold bathtub, tile).

I actually use centripetal acceleration to make the water fly out of the hash. When I spin the bag in a circle really fast, the water just rips outta there like a steady stream. When I am done, the hash is in a perfect ball in the center of the bags. When I say perfect, I really mean it all gathers into one ball so I dump it out on the parchment. It’s not goopy or anything, it’s a nice ball like you see on the parchment. It comes out like that, no touching needed. I guess in the end I don’t need that blotter. I’ll think of an alternate use though, might take a bit.
ok to recap: When I am done mixing the hash, I take the work bag and set it aside with trashbuds in there. Then I trot the other three bags over to the tap, and start pouring cold water in. I keep washing and washing until I’m happy with the fluid color coming out, which is clear. Then I lift and drop all the bags at the same time until they are basically empty of water. I grab the first one, 90μm and twist the bag and then whip it around really fast, as fast as I can move my arm. Repeat with all of them, then dump the hash lumps out. All the hash gathers in the bottom for easy ejection! I don’t ever actually like…touch the hash unless it’s to dab that stuff in my crazy rig. That protocol helps me sleep at night.
