oh here’s an interesting data point I extracted: a female seeded from itself creates a plant that yields the same quantity of hash as the mother. They must be like clones of each other??

I see. Knowing from the dried bud would be really cool. No way of knowing from a growing plant though I suppose? Length of trich to the head? none of that?
I guess I’ll have to keep looking. I’m going to try to get some hash out of this plant regardless but my method is still undetermined. Thank u for the knowledge my friend I am watchng this thread too I enjoy the research u do.

You just have to try it and see what happens, that’s for sure. There are no guarantees on yield or quality! Those parts have to be determined. The best yielding plant has really short trichomes(120μm), the second best has really tall ones(500μm).

As far as drying it, I’m still trying to figure this out a lil bit… i feel like I spread it fairly thin on some parchment and then have popped it in the freezer but it doesn’t seem like it has dried out fully… I took it out and try to chop it up with a razor blade but that seemed basically impossible… so I ended up sort of rolling it up and flattening it out like a pancake and popped it back in the freezer…
Any tips, can’t seem to figure that part out about it vs I guess regular air drying which I’m a lil weary of

depending on how much moisture is left in it, it can take a while to freeze dry. A super thin layer should completely dry in a week? It’ll usually melt when you take it out of the freezer. I mean like stick together. I find all the little freeze dried bits will stick to it’s neighbor on the paper.
here’s what a proper wax batch looks like. It’s mostly a flat surface very thin I spread it out lots with about 5 tablespoons of water. When it dries, I’ll roll it up!

Ths goes into the freezer to dry or you let it stand alone dry before rolling that bad boy up?

Yah I let it sit there on the shelf until it’s dried then I usually wait an additional day or two because of paranoia of it perhaps not being all dry, and then I roll it up into a blob/ball/several balls/etc. I don’t freeze it until it’s a ball, the I toss it in there. Just to preserve it forever. I mean until I vape it all he hehh.

When on shelf, do you keep it in the dark? Fan?

Sometimes I cover it if I’m worried about bugs or dust. Right now though it’s just sitting there like you see, but it’s mostly dark. I turn on the light and look at it, make sure it’s good. No fan, but that would speed up the drying for sure. Room temp drying is ok if you heat it then it won’t be wax.

well, crazy thing. It’s like lumpy! It clumped together in some places and spread out in others. I think…maybe I can roll it up into a ball? I’ll try later. Crazy, I should have realized it was not good! I wonder why it got lumpy? ooo questions, questions! Some parts of it are waxed up for sure, but I’m not certain it’s uniform like the big bud batches. I wonder…and bear with me… if I could use the waxing as a test to see if the weed is actually good. It’s almost like I’m testing the melting point of the trichomes or something with this wax thing. OK OK and I should be able to see what makes the waxing fail. I wonder if I can dig apart a chunk of that and see what it’s clumping around.

well I rolled it into a ball, and here’s what I noticed. The ball is harder and doesn’t melt into a puddle at room temperature. Not really like toffee! I’ll disintegrate some later and see what it’s made out of. I’ll take some photos as well. Interesting! I can’t wait to wax the meat breath, it’ll work great based on past evidence. I think it was the original one I waxed and showed online here as an amber goo. yep! That’s the one!

ooo hopefully it works out! I mean in terms of what you want to get out of it. If nothing, it’s a good experiment on if that plant can do it. I’ll post some photos of the king tut hash lemme get the camera…
It doesn’t look as good as the meat breath or big bud ice wax.

I nibbled out a chunk of hash 3000μm wide by 2100μm tall. I am going to video record dissolving it in alcohol to see what happens. Exciting!!!

I really destroyed that thing. It seems like the trichomes didn’t fuse into a goo. It looks just like regular hash to me. damned shit! I’ll post the videos and photos later, I’m working on post production
