The caged ones have a spring and they look like you could just slap them into a quick clamp if you wanted, or drop it into a hydraulic press and let it rip. The uncaged ones look like once you release the pressure it won’t spring back apart after your pressing is done. I can really see how the cage would be useful since the springs are on the side it shouldn’t get in the way. Yo that’s my theory on how they’d work…hah hah anyone actually use them?

yah shit cost more here in canuckistan. It’s almost like take USD+100$=canadian money. Especially out here you can’t go to places like princess auto, or order shit to your door. Tomorrow, I think I am making more hash! I have the ice made. I also have to brew more tincture! I have lots of raw materials for that. PErhaps I’ll make the tincture in the morning and the hash at night. mmm also have to plant those new clones. No rest for the wicked! oh…oh! The freeze dried hash I think it’s good and dry. Not 100% on that but I can test it by taking it out of the freezer and letting it thaw out.
ok, well the documentation makes this claim:
there will be less heat transfer to the ram from caged plates, also the caged plates always press evenly. Lol is that true? It seems true because there is another layer between the ram and the plates. And there is no way it couldn’t press evenly since it’s on stainless posts.

Im not sure about the even pressing. I imagine that the weight pushing down from the ram would make the plates line up with the flat face of the ram and the deck it is sitting one. But definitely less heat transfer to the ram. My mates seal on his ram started leaking really early. I use the exact same ram and I do not use caged plates. I use two separate plates like him but I do not attach the top plate to the ram to prevent the heat transferring through. I have to guide the plate by hand using gloves until the weight is on it. I will do it this way until I eventually buy caged plates. I just need to wait a bit because i have been spending too much money lately.

hah hah you’re telling me. I’m thirsting to do some squishing on some freeze dried hash like this! I am definitely going to try it on someone else’s press just to slake my thirst. Right now though, I am making the tincture. I wonder if I could schedule the squish for my birthday! shiiiiiiiiit!

yah just freeze dried it in the freezer, but it’s not that thick it’s actually curved like a spoon you’re seeing the back of it. It would have dried faster if it were thinner, I must admit. I think I had it in there longer than a week. If I touch it with my finger, trichomes stick to them. I want to freeze dry some in the freeze dryer at super best friends, just so I can be 100% sure it’s looking the same if I do it in the freezer or freeze dryer. So far from the sample provided by buddy, it should be the same.

Unfortunately no I didn’t, I should have wrote on the parchment when I originally put it in the freezer instead of thinking that I would remember which was which lol…
The different micron piles were separate tho and those each put into different jars…
And yeah, some piles were more sticky, even to the parchment more than others… I’ll just grade them from trying them but a lot of them do look fairly similar to each other as far as color goes.
Fridge, isn’t that how people store it? Or should I do something else? I was thinking about maybe getting some small silica packets to put in each jar but also am concerned that maybe a decent amount of the hash will stick to it which would kind of suck.

ohhhhh shit! Snap! Yo those sponsors are lovin’ me life is grand. I was worried about extracting too much. Oh they don’t mind paying up for some upgrades, they’ve joined into a group. Not everyone is into the whole cannabis infosphere thing, but the penguin wants to do some more water culture. Hopefully he can put a tent inside his enclosure and grow some of those 4 legal plants. I’ve got high hopes, because the penguin is a long way away from the influence of the poisoner, as well as the justice league.

ohh yah well the justice league is a pseudonym for this group of people who are growing “medical” grade weed with banned substances. They are lead by a person I call “the poisoner” who constantly sprays banned substances on his plants. The weed grown by the justice league is flavorless. In the mind of “the poisoner”, mildew and spider mites are blowin’ in the wind they are going to blow right into your grow. I know it sounds like I’m talking about anyone in particular but not really it’s kind of like a mind set amongst certain growers, that poison is the cure. Unless it’s water, I’m not going to be putting it on my plants.
