My Bubble hash making tech

My guess is:
It looks like there are particles forming in the solution and the longer you have fluid/solvent on hand the larger they get.
The wax is a fine aggregate fixed in a matrix. Failed wax is a course aggregate in a weaker matrix.
Now, there’s plenty of material to go ‘poke holes in’ :+1:
but I think it is close going by those photos.

Hmm, maybe I didn’t make the wax then when I did it because it was def a lil thicker than a couple millimeters, although prob not much…

It did have the almost fruit roll up type consistency, but I think more white ish because I did the freezer method with it instead

yah, I’ve really been meditating on it. I tried thicker VS thin it’s only like goo when it’s wet, if the hash is thick. Then it dries out into a flat piece of hash. But when I spread it really thin it’s translucent in the end. I’ll keep fiddling there. Another observation is there’s like a deposited layer of gummy substance on the parchment if it’s too thick, but it comes off clean when it’s thin. I’ll also try freeze drying it, in an actual freeze dryer.

First time making bubble hash yesterday. Not sure how I did. This was out of a bag of leaf.

if you take a bit when it’s dry and rub it between your fingers you can grade it. Feels like a lump of rock = not good, feels like sand = ok, feels like fine sifted flour = great!

Its weird it feels dry already. I have about a 1lb of larf and like 2 lbs of trim I want to run.

There wasnt a lot of water that it was sitting in. Not sure if the bags were up too high or not. The pictures you posted looked like a soup.

I run enough water into the bags to cover the ice and weed completely when it’s submerged. Did you use dried or fresh material to make the batch?

Dried. It was leaf from my harvest in July

ahh yes, that means it comes out in it’s final “form” usually a little sandy. When the trichomes are already dry they don’t glom together very well.

Is there like a humidity you aim for? I have these small hygrometers I use for my flower.

A friend lost a bunch due to mold so trying to avoid that.

Does dry sift work well in bubble?

I got about 4 oz of 150 to 220micron sift

I let it sit until there is no more weight left to water. Usually happens faster with a smaller lump. Final stage i put it on the balance and see if I lose a point of weight. After that, I freeze it to prevent degradation. I have never tried dry sifting.

So u just continually weigh it until its the same weight for 24hrs?

How can it feel like fine sifted flour as a high grade? I mean, I’d imagine a high grade would be really sticky, how could that feel like flour and not stick to itself?

lol I’m talking shelf dried. You already know it’s good if you pick up some of it and it melts on your thumb like a puddle.

I have a triple beam balance, right. So I put the hash in question on a piece of parchment and then put it on the beam. Once it’s balanced, I just check on it the next day to see if the balance is off, then it’s still losing weight.
I used to do that all the time for compassion. To ensure a batch I sold them never went bad, I would spend quite a bit of time with a 100 gram patty on the balance.

Just in case anyone doesn’t know wtf I am talking about heh heh.

So if it’s all stuck together does that mean it’s not dry enough?

it’s just a little more crumbly than if you use fresh buds. I would still use weight to determine if it’s completely dried out. You can rip a tiny bit of it, if it sizzles like water on a hot grill it’s definitely not dry.

wtf is that black object in the first photo?
