My first grow omg

I was going to ask that question yesterday, but didn’t want to cause any second guessing, that might cause a problem, as his grow is going well atm :+1:

@HeadyBearAdventures

But I would add, the light could probably go a bit lower to tighten up those branch nodes a bit.

So wondering if getting a good earthy sweet smell from rubbing the stem is a good sign. One plant is at 5 nodes other is at 7 nodes?

Eh, sounds like it smells like a growing plant. Terp production is generally minimal until she gets bigger/approaches flowering. Stem rubs rarely translate to finished aromas.

Nice, thanks for the info. I was reading that getting a good high smell could help with picking a good male. Havnt flipped them so not sure the sex, so thought id ask

Now for day 33 of my big plants. They still seem healthy.

With the last being the white widow clone from a friend.
A reference for leaf size.

I am wondering if I get a male and Female out of the five if there would be interest in me doing a seed run on this landrace strain?

There is always to interest in seed runs, but making it official will possibly be a bit more pressure on you for a first grow.

You could have a go and if it works out, offer the seeds out to members.

Clarifying question: Did you acquire Afghani landrace seeds and pop them since your first post? I just read through the thread again, and I didn’t see when you mentioned Afghan #1 anywhere before.

edit: This is the first time I see you mention Afghani as a strain, so I’m just confused when you sprouted a different cultivar after the PP and BB.

Yeah i started 2 afghani a couple days after the 2 ppp seeds an banana blaze that I started. A week or so in, my two ppp plants got knocked off the window sill in my kitchen and didnt survive. I just read back through my posts and could have swore I posted about it. But apparently I didn’t. My wifes cat decided to sun in the widow and knocked them into the dish water. Needless to say but quit using the window sill. I still have one ppp seed that Im holding onto for a later grow.
I had recieved the afghan seeds a couple days after I started popping the first ones.

Got it! I was just like, “How did I miss a landrace, after following the whole thread?!”
To your earlier question, I’ll echo @shadey that there will most certainly be interest, but just run your own race here, plenty of time to do all of it, and it’s definitely a marathon, not a sprint.

My only thought is that I popped all my afghan seeds so if I dont do a seed run I wont have seeds to do one later.

Just get a clone of all the females take the best male and and let him pollinate all the females

Yeah I guess I could do that.

Best time to take cuts is a couple of weeks before you flip them to flower. I usually lollipop the plant and take of all the lower small branches that won’t produce much bud and just use up valuable nutrients and energy.

You just need a humidity dome, a constant warm temperature around the high 70’'s F and some peat pucks, a misting bottle to mist the inside of the humidity dome and some rooting hormone or aloe vera leaf gel if you have an aloe plant.

There are plenty of people here to walk you through the process when you are ready, although everyone probably does it slightly different with their set up.
