Also this week here in Chile is the big national holiday… Something similar to July 4th in the sense it’s a very patriotic holiday…no school/work til Monday.
Baby back ribs and Chorizo sausage sandwiches for late lunch today. Very typical activity is kite flying, especially for children… Here’s one of my kids flying a kite on the beach. There will be a bunch of festival/party/fair type things with typical music, drinks, foods and games. I live in a touristic town and we go from around 24,000 residents to a floating population of 75,000-80’000 people over this holiday XXL weekend
So my last grow, before I traveled to USA for vacation, I had several strains going… I kept 1 male, a Bodhi Cherry Queen (Fat Cherry Afghan x Old Mother Ghani). I made some f2 s and crossed it to Seattle Chronic One Ton (the one x {pez x Ortega} x the one bx). I try to be careful with pollination but sometimes end up with 5-15 seeds from my other plants… One of them was my NL2 ibl from Deep Ellum.
Here’s the NL2 ibl mother. 1st and 3rd pics are at about 52-54 days. 2nd pic is at chop around 60-63 days. The top cola had just a little bit of bud rot. My lights off humidity was in the high 70s that round though.
That nl is a good looking plant nice colors, thnx for sharing pictures from over there. I know youll like that gorilla glue its always a great smoke. Good smell on the nl2?
It’s tear shaped like female pre flowers, but I have my doubts like with mine, seems to have a bract superposed to the other and a little stem below, that would be a dude…
Thanks. The NL2 was very strong smelling during flowering but just an overall dank weed smell kinda on the sweet side but not very sweet either. Up close it had an artificial banana candy type thing going on but none of that came thru after dry and cure. Just a strong dank old school weed smell. The high is above average to average strength nice relaxed indica but not tiring at all… Helps with my muscle aches after my sports (soccer/fútbol and Beach Tennis) the taste isn’t great though but that could be user error… I wanted to keep this plant but was getting ready to travel to USA, where I’m from, with my wife and kids and didn’t have any viable options to keep it alive. I still have 5-6 of the original seeds from the pack. I had originally kept two females the one in pic and the other had a branchiet structure but light green airy buds. The breeder/pack days there are two main phenotypes a Afghan/Hindu Kush and a taller Thai type, so I assume I got 1 leaning to each. Alot of people say NL2 has no Thai in it though but from my reading and experience I would argue it did/does
Sounds about right, i never understood why northern lights was promoted as a low to no odor variety. Was always dank smelling to me as well. Cant say i tried nl2 though, lickiky you have a few more to mess with. Later
Yea and got 12 or so seeds from nl2 afghan leaner in the picture pollinated by what I assume to be Bodhi SS Cherry Queen male, as it was the only male I kept. The other pheno was kinda low odor, but that afghan one was super stinky, especially in flowering period. The best producer from that round was Bodhi Sundance (Lemon Thai indica x wookie). Had two ladies, I topped one and the other I let her go natural, both produced well with good density, even on the lower flowers.
Whoa bet thats going to be good for supper. Anything with bodhi genetics will be good, hes got some unique genetics. Im sure your looking forward to those in the future.
I ran out of soil/substrate to continue transplanting the plants before flower. I have an old, sealed unused bag of soil I got from a guy who breeds seeds here. I previously traded Bodhi WiFi x 88g13 for a pack of Pure Michigan f3 op and Margy dog x Pure Michigan. I had gotten two bags from him, thru his uncle really, of substrate they make/mix up themselves. It burned the f**k out of plants I started from seedling in it. It has been sitting in it’s bag under my house for like 5-6 months now and I used some now to transplant one Gatito Especial and my two small plants of my own cross (Mango drips x Hindu peach Kush). We’ll see what happens as I don’t have any cash til I get paid at end of month. Not that there are any options locally really either…
Gatito Especial transplant with the questionable soil
Here’s the Sour Wonder I topped once. Just spreading her out a bit before I flip to flower next week or so. I’d like to get more soil to transplant the rest of the plants that haven’t been transplanted yet before flipping… But I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get any soil soon enough. If not I may use that leftover soil I have that I mentioned, we’ll see how the two pots that got transplanted with some of that soil in it do over the next couple days…
Yea it’s probably hot. The gg4 ril autos did not like it at all. I had an amended soil and the other straight from the bag with just perlite and I accidentally planted the gg4 ril autos with the amended soil and they do not like it. The others have a mix, with a higher percentage of the amended soil being used each transplant. The natural sour wonder is the darkest green of the bunch but otherwise she seems fine. The topped sour wonder, from the most recent pic, has a somewhat lighter green color overall and even lighter green top. I think in the description from Strayfox on GLG site this strain likes large space to stretch her roots and that could be part of the issue too. I think the gatito Especial regs are unhappy because I haven’t transplanted them yet. Im apprehensive to transplant them completely with that older soil I have that I had issues with previously, albeit it was a different/separate bag, I bought both bags of that soil together. I did use some, maybe about 30-40% per pot in the final two transplants I was able to do. I used that to “stretch” the new/good soil I had to be able to do two instead of just 1 with a tiny bit left over. I did do one gatito Especial and one pot with two small plants that were started more recently of my cross of Mango Drip x Hindu Peach Kush. I needed them in something larger as they were just in solo cups and I wanna see what they end up smelling like, at least. Hopefully one or both are girls and I’ll also be able to get a couple g of flower from them to see how they smoke too. But want to see how smells as one of my major ideas to that cross was to get rid of the Putang/tangie bitter burnt orange flavor of the Mango Drips.
I still need to/Would like to transplant the remaining plants, which are 1 Gatito Especial (reg) 1 Mother’s milk (reg), 1 Rhubarb (fem). There a third MM but its still in a solo cup, it was started same time as the 2nd MM that’s waiting on a transplant but came out mutanty and no vigor. It’s got a pretty “hairy” stem and is yellowish in color and small
Ok so I found some soil from a garden store… Never used or heard of it, I imagine you guys even less as you don’t live in Chile… But I went for it.
It’s says it’s
15% perlite
15% worm humus
30% peat moss
40% coconut fiber
I topped up a little bit some of the previously transplanted plants and now I will transplant the 3 remaining plants that haven’t been transplanted. One rhubarb, one Gatito Especial and one MM.
Should be better for the younger plants. The hot stuff save for bigger plants or ones going into flower that way they could use the extra nutrients. Or better yet just mix your new stuff with the older hot soil. Alot of it is genetic too, some like nutes some dont. I grow diffrent strains tg and its hard too dial in numerous cultivars, you should be good. They look fine to me just water only. Honestly better too much nitrogen than not enough while vegging.
