Do you like geraniums or are you using it as a ph indicator?
well the geranium I was testing out the protocol 0 on a different plant. It serves a couple purposes. I’m going to clone the crap out of it for the green house. People like flowers! In addition, you can see the geranium has been there for months. It will have been there in the same bucket with no ph check or water change in the bucket. For 8 months. Just so people know, that shit is possible
here’s a complete study on the geranium. The plant is indicating the EC is below 2.0 in the final photo. You kind of get a feel for what the plant is saying after a few months
The roots look strange, but that’s normal for a geranium. They don’t get a root ball like a cannabis plant, it’s entirely different.
It thrives on conductivity 3.2-2.0! Experimentally determined. I’ll get to the cannabis plants after I drink my coffee!
camera works better now than it has for a couple of months. When I shook the thing it’s like ERRR and had a code indicating steady shot was offline due to motor failure. But the image was steady so I shut the thing down, and next time I turned it on, everything was normal including the image stabilization motors.
@JoeCrowe I had it written down but I can’t seem to find it and you have so much great content I couldn’t find it by scrolling. But what EC do you have your dwc cloner at? I made one and I want to put a bunch of cuts in it to sex in my flower room.
I start out with nothing in there, but when I see the first root nodes I uhhh dump some in never checking the EC. lol! I put it at between .5 and 1.0…but I’ll check gimme a sec. It’s at EC .7!
veg room you can see the geranium is collapsing with all the bud weight I gave up supporting the branches - there are too many of them!
Bud buds are collapsing under the weight as well. It’s mental. Meat breaths are pumping and lots of other things too!!!
The irony about the light burn is I tied down a couple branches and they didn’t get burned. It’s the ones that were lower down that quickly grew up past that point and got burned. I’ll be getting some weird growths on those buds that’ll wind up in the tincture sack.
Thanks man. I should have known you just pour it in haha. I appreciate you checking for me.
You know there’s something about my grow I’ve never seen anywhere else. It’s the experimentally determined doses. Do they call that dialing it in? I’m not making any claim it’s a perfect system, but it does have advantages over reading labels. I can basically grow whatever I want in there. I start cranking the knobs when the plant is small, to see what happens. You get a few weeks of rocky roads, while the plant shows you what overdose and not enough or incorrect formulation looks like. After that, you’re in the cream zone. Once you know the range and mix it’ll accept and still be healthy, it’s simple. If you are not using a meter you have to really keep an eye on the plant, it’ll tell you when things have gone from good to bad. I learned the spider webbing look of the geranium kicks in at EC 2.0, and really pumps out super blossoms at EC 3.2. As long as it is in that range, it looks normal.
As for the mix… that can be a little tricky. Here’s what I do. I start with veg formula. If it won’t settle on that, then I change it up to bloom formula. Generally, plants with lots of blooms, will get an additional PK boost from awesome blossoms. You have to watch out for over production of blooms
can’t decide if those are leaf bracts yet. I’ll leave it for a while longer lol! I could try and cut that out and determine, but in a couple days I’ll have better luck dissecting it.
In bloom the meat banger looks funky. The big buds definitely trigger bloom before the meat bangers do.
first pistils emerged from the meat banger. Let me count the days.
12 days! OK well that hasn’t changed.
big buds are collapsing with buds! That’s a good thing. Also I have to jack the EC up on the vegging meat breath they are on tap water EC now. There are plenty of sex expression going on with the seedlings, perhaps I’ll dissect one today!
hey crazy, one of the seedlings doesn’t have anything to dissect yet. Exciting!!! I love it when something new happens. Perhaps it’ll show on the sixth node!
