Nagel420 - Third Times A Charm!

I’ll grant you that one. But @Slick1 and @Papalag must be afraid of all the stories about my town in Wierd NJ. I mean Clinton Road has legendary status nationwide…

Even made a movie about it (though the movie doesn’t even follow the actual stories)
Clinton Road (2019) - IMDb

And yes, its a FUCKED UP road. Even I have had first hand odd experiences (people in white hoods and capes, like 30 of em, on both sides of the road and IN the road, all I thought was KKK and GTFO of there, if the guy in the road doesnt move, its not my fault he gets hit. Plus at the old Cross Castle I did come across slaughtered chickens and goats on the old fireplace slabs, rumored to be satanic rituals…

Must be scaredy cats  ROFL

We get em from a local spot up the hill on the way to the mountain. They only use sourdough starter for everything they bake, it’s all amazing stuff

One is damn good for fiber, another for tastebuds!! :flushed:

I’m trying to stick to my New Year’s resolutions… one of them is getting back into shape, thus oatmeal. I’m not actually doing it yet though, you guys keep giving me too many excuses to skip exercising. :stuck_out_tongue:

Was always crazy about the Cinnamon and raisin ones, the garlic ones, besides Jalapeno bagels! And Blueberry! New York City should be a bit closer!!! Mouth watering image of yours @LegsMahoney!! :flushed: :bagel:

G&A Bagels here. World famous NY style bagels. The owners have shops in 9 countries!

Best at 2am. Sausage n Cheese on a bagel - 2 big pieces of sausage, FAT bagel, was $1.50 in college, like $2.25 today and still worth every penny.

Yeah, those kinds of prices don’t happen around here. Pork roll & cheese on a toasted everything bagel = $5.95 for me… another good incentive to eat $1 worth of oatmeal instead.

I’ve heard a lot of heavy claims the NJ bagels are actually better than NY bagels. As if we needed another food controversy to discuss here

@LegsMahoney, “adversaries’ mediocrities!” No offense @Slick1 !!!

LOL, there’s no north and south there, just JERSEY bagels! I think all of us would agree they are better than NY bagels…

I’ve been told its the water. Literally… no joke…

Oh I know, but I’ve heard that some of the Jewish communities in NJ import water from NY, so who’s got the best water??

I’ve never seen bagels come in sleeves before  I’ve seen bread shaped like bagels sold in grocery stores in sleeves before, but never real bagels :stuck_out_tongue: I say that, I mean that, and still I’ll tear up a sleeves of Lender’s onion “bagels” gladly.

This sounds like every time I’ve eaten oatmeal in my life

It’s only a secret because “Taylor Ham” doesn’t exist.

It was at this point that I stopped trusting Legs’ judgement…

Are you kidding? That stuff is exactly what would draw me to that part of the state. If it hasn’t in the past 20 years of being legally able to drive there though…

And that’s a reasonable price for one too around here. I forget where it is that it’s like $7.30, probably Baron’s where they load it up so much that $7.30 is still a deal. No toasting though! The natural rind to the bagel and soft inside makes it better!

It’s all hometown pride BS. The same families that brought these recipes to America in the first place settled in both states. When someone tries to say shit like “NY pizza blows Jersey pizza away” it’s all baseless posturing. We have the same stuff. I could sit here and say NJ pizza and bagels blow away NYC ones just cause fuck NYC but it’s the same stuff.

Leave it to @Slick1 to put everything in perspective :joy:

Bro I’ve heard about that road in the spring the kid and I my do a weird no tour see you then

Been determined that the reason the bagels in the pizza are better because it’s to chemicals in the water if you noticed they can’t get bagels in the west and a company called Manhattan bagel have to actually pre-make them in the east so they could transport them to all of their store so that they have a consistent taste if you ever got the bagel out in California you’ll know this is not a bagel so fucking sourdough roll

@Nagel420 iv got no problem driving north but lately I can’t use my hands so I don’t drive so the kid and my wife play chauffeur till I see the specialist in February
I’d be happy to hang out and see your garden

Ps you need to try the bubble monkey it’s definitely night time smoke

Manhattan Bagel makes a pretty good one though which is really surprising for a chain. Einstein Bagels and other chains make subpar stuff. I was in Ohio with my ex many years ago at Xmas and her younger cousin said she worked at Einstein Bagels and said they make them legit, the old world Jewish way. She went on about how she didn’t even know what a real bagel was until she worked there and now she gets it.

Curiosity (and missing a good bagel) got the best of me. They were barely any better than a grocery store bakery bagel.

Something about a LINY bagel. There are bagel places that do it better, not all are created equal. Always a few kicking around the freezer
