Northern Lights Auto "Stay at Home" Grow

One time i had the same problem with greenbud seeds lemon pie auto, if i remember correct it was like 6-8weeks on 18/6 , it just didn’t flower while my other ones did so i gave it 12h darkness instead my usual 6 hours, and after that i put it back in the 18/6 schedule and it started flowering fine.

I always greatly enjoy your grows. You’re like Ali. You rope a dope and are humble about everything. I’m glad they turned out decent for you. They always do. Have a good one bro.

My auto tent lights up tomorrow. I may shoot some craps.:v:

Sorry to thread Jack @ReikoX . I’m gonna run a few autos from a few breeders. I’d love a few people’s input. Maybe a small poll. In my boredom and love of Reikos work. I won’t go dice. My gambling is atrocious.

Stop by the house and give me an opinion. Sorry Reiko. I just panhandled in front of your house.:pray::call_me_hand:

Haha, you’re welcome to panhandle at my house any time bro. Anything by Mephisto is usually bomb. I like Delicious Seeds too, and cant forget about Sweet Seeds.

The Northen Lights are still kicking, despite my.best attempts to kill them. I forgot to water one night, so the big plant got a little fussy about it. She is terribly hungry, I didn’t plan for her to be in this soil for this long. I may have to feed her some ferments. The smaller plant, on the other hand, is getting very close to done. Another week, maybe a week and a half, to go. The cylax are just now starting to swell and add even more weight.

Kind of crazy I’m going through the same thing right now I didn’t expect these plants some of the buds stayed really small until the end and now there’s swelling so the soil kind of fell on me on some of them I’m scrambling now to do a little bit of light ferments really light amendments maybe for another week on a couple. The Gelato Dwarf is gorgeous but I didn’t expect them to be so voracious towards the end.

Give em hell bud. You getting those NL notes yet? Sweet Juniper berries and gassy vomit.. Nice thick buds tho. I bet til smoke. Maybe some fresh NL rosin. Awesome work.:v:

These plants are like the Energizer bunny. I dropped these “auto” beans in water about 102 days ago (May 24, 2020). About 65 days ago, I switched the lighting to 18/6 to help induce flowering. That worked, but 49 days ago I switched it to 12/12 to induce flowering on the other plant. So how old is it? I don’t think it’s ready despite my impatience.

The Zak Haze clones came in around 39 days ago, and I think the thrips came in with the soil I brought in from outdoors. They are recovering, but I don’t expect much from 12/12 from clone. Hoping for a good 5 grams from both for a good rosin press.

Finally the red headed step child of the bunch. Not sure if it’s the heat, the low humidity, too little nutrients, thrips damage, or what, but she looks u happy. I’m sure she will cross the finish line, but she ain’t going to look pretty.

Overview of the whole tent…

…and I popped in to see how your grow NL auto grow had finished up…

LOL! 14.5 weeks and still going!  WOW!
AND one was probably a photoperiod…
They say trouble comes in 3’s… well, you sure got all yours out of the way. :+1: :sunglasses:

I am glad to see the buds are stacking nicely!

The Royal Queen Seeds NL Auto got chopped last night. These seeds were dropped in water 110 days ago. They started flowering after I put them under 18/6 lighting 73 days ago, 57 of those days they were under 12/12. I saw some thrips while trimming it up, but nowhere near as bad as the other plants.

That one definitely sounded like a hassle but looks like it might’ve been worth it at least ^^

First thing I saw was a Menorah too! Makes me think that’s where they got the idea from… just light the tops :evergreen_tree::fire:

Trichomes look perfect! :+1: :sunglasses:

I wish I understood how the seed production worked at the big organizations such as RQS. They must have some poor mothers in their ‘NL auto herd’ or something.

That was a really good catch shifting to 12/12 to trip that weird photo-period into flower…
Master Class move! :tophat:

The RQS NL I harvested last week is in jars for burping now. It smells quite different from the Female Seeds NL auto I’ve been smoking on. That one is more of a juniper, pine, spicy smell while the RQS is more sweet and BO (in a good weed way). I honestly thought it was me while I was trimming it.

The NL !Auto is doing fairly well at 65 days of 12/12. I thought it was going to be all leaf until one of the branches flopped over. As I was setting it upright, I noticed there was actually quite a bit of bud underneath all that leaf. She’s going to be a PITA to trim though. My guess is she has at least another week to ripen up.

The Zak Haze clones look done at 55 days of 12/12. I usually take this one 8-9 weeks, but it seems like the small pots made them ripen on the faster side. I may get a total of 5 grams from both plants (that was the original goal).

Hey Reiko
So what’s the Final verdict on the NL Auto…?
Auto or not an Auto?
Some of these Northern Lights and White Widow Autos seem to have a longer veg period, which I certainly don’t mind, as it gives Canadian’s options to grow outdoor similar to tomatoes…which you just can’t do with photo periods…

How many days of veg did they have before you threw in the towel and treated them
Like photoperiods? How tall did you NL “Auto” get? Any herm issues?

Female Seeds NL Auto was a normal auto. It started to flower under 20 hours of light after about 3.5-4 weeks. One of the RQS NL Autos was sort of flowering, so I dropped it down to 18 hours after about 37 days. That worked, and they would have finished under that schedule, but the othe RQS NL !Auto (for those who dont know ! Is a symbol for not in computer logic). Still wouldnt flower after another 10 days, so I switched it to 12/12. They still took a good 10 days or so to begin flowering.

I topped them once, but they are about 3’ tall right now. No herm issues despite my high temperatures, and thrips problem.

Dabbing some fresh RQS NL Auto rosin. Pressed at 85°C for 4:00. The initial BO smell is starting to fade as it cures. The rosin is quite fruity, sort of a melon flavor. The effect is pretty good, noce head with a gentle lift. I immediately wanted a second dab to taste it again.

Man ive qotta find a way to squish a quarter of all my.product. How’s the NL rosin? Im very intrigued. Did the Juniper pass through in the rosin. Those distinct flavors are what bring NL together.

That rosin is nectar from the Gods. I will get a press sooner or later. I jave a ton of grass I wanna press. I jave a very potent bunnlegum strain. I wanna squishy squishy. Look awesome Reiko. Great work brother man.:v:

Having a press is one of the best things about this hobby. I actually leave the bottom low-light branches on to grow as any of those small larfy buds are perfect for pressing and I don’t have to use the nice buds for it. Dry sift with a mesh bubble bag and some dry ice takes ~5min for some quality hash… usually press that stuff too.

Interesting how they turned out differently from the Female Seeds ones. I always associated the juniper/pine to the NL specifically so if the RQS don’t have a lot of that, I wonder what else is in there  Gotta be something from the auto side of the lineage I’d think…

Everything looks dank! Especially that rosin

Yeah, I wouldnt call these NL, and only the one was an auto. Female Seeds nailed the NL juniper pine. I rolled most of it into doobies, but what I pressed of the flower tasted the same.

I actually tend to do the opposite and press my grade A buds, then my grade B buds and larf go to joints. Eventually I will be going straight from harvest to bubble hash, freeze dried, and then pressed. But I’m still a ways off from that freeze dryer investment.
