North's 2022 Outdoor

Just wanted to post about this Sunset Vibes auto by G13 Labs which lineage is listed as (GSC x Pink Panties) x Ruderalis. It’s basically exploded. Taking on a similar structure to my Wedding Cheese Cake auto. You can see it here compared to the Strawberry Cheese Cake auto and CDLC in the background.

Speaking of WCC, I started the trim on her yesterday and got a few branches of buds in jars. This morning I popped the jar and was greeted with a dank cheese smell reminiscent of stale cheesies with a bit of baked goods in the background. Looking forward to continuing the trim on this one. Here are a few of the lower nugs:

Hello fine cannabis enthusiasts.

Buds are setting in nicely this week and I’m even seeing some signs of early frost! (Trichome development).

The plants are getting a bit difficult to take pictures of. They’re blending into the trees in the background and they’re big so I’m having to jump across to my neighbours roof to get them into frame.

Here’s Japhy, who’s one of the furthest along. I feel like she’ll be a late September finisher.

Afghan Lemon is probably the furthest behind but is setting up nicely:

The Goji’s are hungry but I’ve been doing my best to keep up with their demands. They are actually probably the frostiest so far. I’m excited for these two phenos to grow out without seeds.

Snow G is starting to stack and frost up a bit:

The ever hungry and huge SD x SS is looking a lot healthier to me but still yellowing up some on the inside. This plant is a beast. No frost yet.

Star Pupil is busting out the purples:

The autos are chunking up. Strawberry Cheesecake is essentially one giant cola:

Sunset Vibes is really stretching and branching out nicely with no training:

Very feminine and sativa-esq.

Compared to the fat, broad leafed SCC.

CDLC broke my heat this week. I found an aphid infestation on a few of the buds on her main cola. I thought it was caterpillar frass at first or at least some kind of frass but when I started at it long enough I saw them all moving.

Warning… you may feel a bit itchy after viewing these photos:

What a shame. She was so promising… I either missed this earlier and it was the reason for her yellowing or the yellowing weakened her enough that she got attacked. I’m thinking it was the later because I was pretty thorough in my pest scouting and also, she started yellowing up like 3 weeks ago. I would think this infestation would’ve been a lot worse after all that time. Either way, I’ve learned a lot from this. I now know what aphids look like and where they hide. Live and learn my friends!

Stay diligent and enjoy what’s left of summer.

Until next time 🤌🏻

DAMN YOU APHIDS!!!

I’ll shake my fist randomly left and right while driving through your hood on the way to work today in hopes of crossing the insects on your plants with the “shake-fist-energy” !

Fuckin bugs. Sorry dude, but everything else looks primo right now!

:joy: thanks man! Ya, a real disappointment.

Yep, it’s gotten me on high alert now but it just really sucks about the CDLC. I was really looking forward to it. Oh well… good thing I’m going to have more weed than I’ll know what to do with this winter lol

You can still do an alcohol extraction on that one. It would be a shame to just throw it all away.

Oh yeah for sure. I cleaned her, cut out the buds with aphids and gave her a good bud washing dunk. I’ll def still sample it but I just don’t think she was able to hit her max potential! Buds just didn’t look full to me or even fully developed.

At least it wasn’t a total loss.

Just a quick flower update and photo dump today.

The buds are filling in fast and the smells are starting to materialize rapidly! The neighbourhood STINKS and I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT!!!

It’s literally amazing how these plants transform during this stage and I have to say it’s one of my favourite things to witness. From day to day the buds are just filling in and stacking up.

A lot of different smells coming in. Star Pupil is intoxicating and so is the Afghan Lemon, which is developing a deep, rich lemon cleaner scent. It’s still very early but it’s very promising. I’m a little worried the AL won’t finish on time because she is they furthest behind. The write up on Ace Seeds says Oct 1-15 but I have a feeling she’s going to go deep. We’ll see!

Here’s the SDXSS:

Here’s Snow G:

Here’s Japhy (the CBD cultivar):

Here’s Star Pupil:

Here’s the Afghan Lemon:

Here are the Goji’s, which are looking almost identical! They’re expressing a little differently than the first round, which is expecting and cool to see:

More to come!

Another week, another explosion of growth and smells! With @Pigeonman angry fisting all the pests away I AM UNSTOPPABLE!!

The best thing happened they other morning when I woke up. We’ve been sleeping with the windows open lately since the night temps have been comfortable and ideal. The garden up on the roof has been bursting with smells and my wife woke up and commented on how “someone must’ve ran over a skunk last night”. I just couldn’t help but smile and laugh. Part of my own personal theory about the road kill skunk (RKS) terps everyone’s after is basically; to people that don’t smoke or grow weed, it smells like a skunk. How many times have you been somewhere with a small bag in your pocket or back pack has someone commented on that “skunky” smell? When you were young and you didn’t know much about it you remember it smelling like a skunk, at least I do. So ppl connect that nostalgic smell with the theory that we’ve lost all the RKS terps. Anyway, a bit of a sode rant observation but I’d thought I’d share it bc it was funny to me.

You didn’t come here to read a novel! Here are some pics.

I pollinated the SDxSS and the Afghan Lemon today with the Sour Bubble pollen from that beauty of a legend @DougDawson

I realize I am WAY behind on this but both strains are the furthest behind. To me, they look like they’re in the 4-5 wk of flowering phase by just looking at the pistils and morphology. I don’t think seeds are going to finish by the time they do but who knows. It’s only a few branches and it’s just for fun. I covered the branches with a plastic shopping bag and tagged them. I did this in the morning and came back a few hrs later and there was condensation in the bags… FAIL! Lol maybe this is an overnight thing. I’ll try again.

Here are some more pics of the SDxSS. She’s filling in nicely and getting some frost going. Leaves are still yellowing here and there but not as crazy fast as before. Obviously I didn’t too dress enough at the beginning of the season but I think those late season top dressings are starting to break down for her. I’ve been on top of it with the microbes like crazy to help make everything more plant available and it seems to be showing.

In my attempt to show a picture with any accuracy of scale I added a broom to the first pic that is 5 feet tall so you can try and visualize it. The plants are pushing 10 feet tall! Being in the garden with these monsters is a really neat experience and I would recommend anyone growing some trees this size some day.

Snow G is coming along nicely. Also with a 5 foot rake for reference. Last Monday though, I found a tiny spot of PM on one of the fan leaves  :scream: :scream: I VERY carefully wiped it away with some H202, removed all fan leaves that were touching and spritzed the area with H202… nothing has returned yet but frig! This was supposed to me outdoor powerhouse!! Not too impressive if she breaks out in PM. We’ll see how she finishes.

Here’s “Star Pupil” or whatever people think she is. Honestly I don’t care… this plant is beautiful. So feminine and expressive… not just the purples. The ridged fans, the way they point and cup and the overall structure of this plant… not to mention the smells. I re-read the strain write up that MMS posted on his website about this one and honestly, it’s BANG ON accurate. Same with pictures. I’ve never experienced that before and my short 4 years of growing. No matter what you think about this strain of MMS, his reliability went up a few notches. Can’t wait to sample this one but she has a lot of filling out to do in the next few weeks. It’ll be water and microbes for her from here on out.

Japhy is a fat sloppy cow and I love it. Starting to look like a melted ice cream cone. I think she’ll be one of the first to come down. Water and microbes for her till the end also.

Afgahan Lemon REEEKS! Like strong lemon and what I can only describe as pastel candies. Lemon pastels! I don’t know but she’s one of the strongest smelling plants along with Star Pupe’s. starting to frost up and slowly fill in… so slow! Get fat already you whore! Lol jk. I only talk to my plants like that in my head.
