I have seen this a bit. I have the same cut with a friend but we use different nutes and light schedules. Temps are a bit different as well. They look similar but not exactly the same. Different lights too.

I’ll let ya know when I clone her again if you wanna see how she grows next to your tk. I’m almost positive there are 2 maybe more dif tk cuts being used by well known breeders.

This is for sure true , many people including some major breeders got a tk s1 that I believe was passed around by krome.

Makes me think that 7 bladed better yielding “TK” is the S1 as that’s what pops out of the 5 bladed TK’s S1’s and crosses.

my cut appears it will yield very well

Oh she yield’s damn well but this other 7 bladed cut yields just a bit better.

“Og kush is Nevils Hindu that wasent Hindu x mystery plant that is believed to have come from the Pacific Northwest.”

as far as i remember correctly the Hindu Kush Nevil made using Northern Lights #2 (the kush type) and kush4 (he got from jim ortega).
i would need to check old screenshots to verify it was kush4.

Yeah that’s exactly what the Hindu Kush is.
Can see the NL2 F3 in the 1989 The Seed Bank Catalog
NL2 F3
Note the “remarkably pure Hindu Kush phenotype”

And nevil talk about what he did after this F3 here:

and more here

Note the “foundation of today’s Kush lines”…
And going back to that 1989 Catalog we have this

And when we get to the 1991 Sensi Seeds Catalog, no more Kush x Kush, instead it’s:

Yes, this part of the story I truly believe and Neville was a true cannabis genius. He understood so much more then even the highest tier of cannabis breeders we got today.

But for me the high from OG Kush is different then NL2 and Hindu Kush. They have a significantly more sedative and stoney high, more close with the Bubba. But everything else is there.

So for me, the last piece of the puzzle is the Emerald Triangle cut. This is probably where the wonderful and addictive effect of OGs come from. I think this is where the cannabis community should focus on getting more information about before all the old timers which where active at the time, won’t be able to tell the stories of the past.

Interesting find from 2008 ICMag about Greencrackman and the Kush Corporation on OG 1.0, anyone remember them?

It’s was acquired from a guy who was from Washington and had existed as a strain sense at least 1987 , pounds were available but I believe the people involved were busted in 89 and the herb itself has not been seen sense 92. There is no other information available atm unless the then partner of the guy who’s room the tk and og seeds came from knows and there is a good chance that person was never told the genetics and the story just ends there.
There are a lot of theories , it was described as earthy, spicy , floral and candy tasting with no fuel or gas notes.
Some think nl5 some think nl5haze but I don’t think it will ever be known, personally I’ve always thought it was something similar to Kandahar thai cross that went on to be a part of master Thais Tahoe og and many of swamis lines like the blue orca haze , but again that is just another theory, could have been any dank as herb somebody was sending units of to Florida in the 80s. Lots of surfers and bikers moving weed in the 80s.

I never got a chance to experience OG kush in its heyday. What’s the clone to get these days that would be considered the original?

92OG
SFVOG
TahoeOG
Josh D Cut
Legend OG
Any of the other ones out there lol?

The ghost cut would probably top my list if I wanted as close to original that’s easy to source. Josh D is supposed to be good as well.

There is at least two plants being heavily passed around as tk that are not the original , the original is much less common to get your hands on then some would want you to believe, the more common s1 is supposed to yield better then the original but have slightly lower potency and terps but unless you had the original and grew her it would be hard to tell them apart . The other fake looks identical but is almost terp less , similar to kromes white, most likely a white s1 not even a tk s1. I have not grown a verified TK and would like to but would not trust it as authentic unless it came from origins himself or josh.

The legit ghost cut or a verified josh d or tk but those are harder to come by then the ghost, the 92 is a whole different beast and mystery and is also not common to find outside certain circles.
The topanga was also really good but seems to have become uncommon.

Well… the 5 bladed TK girl I got absolutely reeks, loud AF so it’s not that s1. It’s also up there as one of the more potent plants I’ve had in my life.

That 7 bladed one looks damn similar but definitely yields better than the 5 bladed so I’m gonna say that’s the other s1.

Meaning the one I have is the original.

You hit the nail on the head. I also believe that there is Thai lineage in OG! It’s something about the high that I’ve only experienced in common lineages like Lemon Thai, Chocolate Thai, but also in less potent/worked landrace cultivars from Thailand.

I’m very intrigued that you brought this up… Thank you for bring this to light. :pray:t2:

If you would like to elaborate more on what you personal believes are regarding the Emerald Triangle cut. Everything is of value.
