OG Kush - The Original Genetics

Does anyone know specifically which cut got renamed Headband and now goes by 56 Day Headband? I briefly got to ask Josh about it and he said it was the same cut he runs now, that he brought in 96 and gave to the Sour crew that they renamed Headband. The 56 Day Headband is one of my all time favorite OG’s. She looks like TK’s sister too. I grew them together side by side and I got them in jars side by side now too. She’s like TK’s skunky sister hahaha. I cannot decide which is stronger.

SOLVED
the mother of “Bubba Kush” is the kush which Alec Andersen got from Amsterdam.
The polinator of “Bubba Kush” is a Northern Lights female (the “Bubba”) from “Fat Larry” that hermed…
When the NL female called "The Bubba hermed, it unintentionally pollinated the “Kush” clone that was growing next to it. The Bubba Kush is a pheno from those unintentional seeds.

The “OG Kush” has zero NL parents because “OG Kush” is only that kush mother, which Alec Anderson got from Amsterdam (which is the same mother of “Bubba Kush”).

Neither Matt Berger nor Josh D know for sure that the infamous mother was actually a Hindu Kush.

If you want to hear this directly from Josh D, just send me your instagram @username and I’ll send you the clarifying post that Josh himself posted around July 24th 2023

Interesting, curious to see how it works out, I’ve not seen a metal halide at the red end, any idea what the metal used?

OG is from Triangle Kush which have 2 known sister cuts, The White and Flo Ridah OG. The provenance for all cuts goes directly to Florida.

Also, OG got waaaaaaay too much sativa in it for it being a pure hindu kush. Everyone who actually have grown a lot of afghan or paki kushes, know that OG is on another level.

What? Flo-rida has now been elevated to TK’s sister? When did that memo come out?

It was always the White and OG Kush that were her sisters.

The OG Kush story according to Marty @origins_tk_ogk / @origins_tk_selects and Josh D @therealogkushstory / @_j_o_s_h_d at instagram:

Triangle Kush and OG Kush , both seeds made in south Florida in 1991 in the same garage of Marty. The mother was called Emerald Triangle (in our circle from around ‘87) and that garage was stuffed wall to wall with it , A pack of Hindu Kush seeds that I bought from Neville , Amsterdam in 1989 was being tested after a pre sex test . One of those pre sexed Hindu Kush seeds created a bit of unseen pollen near the AC intake , that managed to make seeds thru out that entire 12 light garage . Those lbs where then sold by myself to a close buddy near Orlando , where he would then piece them out to his circle of friends . One of his buddies would find the Triangle Kush seed and another guy found the Kush seed that would later get named OG Kush once it made its way west to California . I’ve seen countless people claiming or insisting Chemdog is the parent to OG kush but with out a shadow of a doubt it’s not unless they share dna from years earlier or maybe from the Hindu Kush genetics from Neville in ‘89 . The Emerald Triangle strain was given to my old partner from an older head from the Washington area before I ever even knew he was a grower as I was buying pounds of it already to sell in 87-88 . OG is not Chemdog simple facts . Added fact , The Emerald Triangle leaned more towards a earthy spicy , flower smelling , sweet candy like terps and not chemi or fuel like at all . fuel or gassy terps must have came from the Hindu .

Something notso talked about since he was the first one in Mendo to receive the Flo Ridah clone that he know of. We have to take everything with a grain of salt, but it started to circulate about the same time so it’s very much plausible. It also is said to be very much like triangle kush, in that you will find a lot of different popular OG phenos when you S1 the Flo Ridah, while other other cuts of OG starts to lean towards homozygous expressions.

You are correct about the bubba kush how ever og kush has northern lights in it along with genetics from Jim Ortega , it’s been discussed in depth by josh and the guy who’s room the seeds came from (Marty).
The Hindu Kush that went rogue was nevils Hindu which was not pure Hindu but rather a mix of the before mentioned genetics crossed to a mystery plant they called Angel aka triangle and I think it even went by supernaught for a split second.
You can find posts from nevil explaining what his Hindu actually was , all those people hunting pure Hindu Kush genetics for og type plants are waisting there time. Og kush is Nevils Hindu that wasent Hindu x mystery plant that is believed to have come from the Pacific Northwest.
So for anybody who thinks they are going to breed something in the same manner you would need nevils not Hindu Hindu which I don’t believe is available and the mystery plant that no longer exists.

The other tk cut I had didn’t either. The guy who ran her gets a lot of cuts to throw more fingers on his fans than when I run them. Don’t know if it’s because he runs his lights at 100% or it’s his environment

interesting… I’ve seen one guy have 6 blades come out on the same TK cut I run, but she was pretty stressed out and on weird feed. I’ve ran her more than a few times under LED’s at 700-1000 ppfd with and without co2, veg under led’s too, and i’ve never once seen her put out more than 5 blades no matter what i do. Stressed or healthy.

I will say this cut is not the same tk cut I’ve ran and that I think most have not saying one is more legit than the other. But I def know where from this one came.

I’ve got the white X TK bx3 almost a week into flower now. I know how og smokes and smells I know how TK smokes and smells but I’m not sure I ever had the white.

Right, can’t really argue coming from originstk, but it looks closer to chemdawg or sour to me than the TK I’m used to seeing. Interested how it turns out for sure! Wouldn’t mind comparing it to the one I got either.

im running my first round of TK . No 7 blades on the entire plant . Looks similar but NOT same as my cut , could be or our environment’s are so different we see different expressions.

Superbly grown plant and beautiful stack !!
