Oleskool’s Shitkicker Grow Show / Arrested Ambition

Depends on how many seeds you require. If it’s to give out here on OG I’d stick the female in with it and open pollenate and you’ll get thousands of seeds. :+1:

With a branch 100s can be expected?

Thanks bro!

Yeah no worries at all bro. What I would do personally is tie a ribbon around the branch your gonna pollenate and hit it several times over a 2 week period. Use an artist’s brush and ensure it gets a good coating of pollen. Leave it for an hour or so then spray the branch down with PhD water to stop the pollen effecting other branches/plants when she’s put back in the tent

I’m at the point where I’m scared to death to open the Love Shack and feed Humberto. He’s only 6 feet from my flowering females. I turn all fans off and only open the door wide enough to get my hand through to water! This is a bit stressful. Any tips @nube ?

Thanks my friend. Good info. You are down for a buttload of beans if successful. Your help is certainly appreciated.

That what we are all here for my ole friend. I’m glad I could help you. In the end everyone will gain from the information stored here on your thread but most importantly from the seeds you produce.

Hey man, there’s a first time for everything!

If your male is in the same general space as your females, he’s going to pollinate everything. There’s no way around it, even if they’re in separate tents, and even if you turn off all the fans. It’s impossible to contain in those tight quarters.

So, your options are really only to make your peace with seeded weed this run, or move him to a separate spot way far away, or chop him back to nothing but a few small branches ASAP, and take some of his flowering tops to put in a vase of water to collect pollen elsewhere, like in your home. His stump won’t start re-flowering for a week or two, and you’re only keeping him around in case his tops don’t drop pollen.

If you decide to put a few of his tops in a vase, wait to do it until they’re just about to open. Make sure to put your readers on when checking or you’ll miss some. And then do the brush or qtip method to selectively pollinate, and make sure to do it outside of your shed or you’ll end up pollinating everything. Basically, pollen can and will go anywhere the wind goes, including your air intakes, etc.

Be advised though, pollen is nasty stuff if you have any allergies, and even if you don’t. It gets everywhere and you have to be pretty careful to not seed the rest of the crop once you’re around him after he starts spl00ging. Let me know if any of that is unclear or if you have any questions and I’ll try to walk through in greater detail.

:+1: exactly what I do. I almost never full pollinate. It makes a ridiculous number of seeds that is not even useful. A branch will make plenty.

So by the looks of them in the pic I should chop the top pretty soon? Now I really want to get rid of him. If I chop it and take it out of the tent, spray the stump down with water there will still likely be some pollination in the flower tent just from taking out of the shed. yes?

I appreciate your learned guidance and it makes me second guess the project. Soon I will be able to move that little tent in the house. I’m gonna try and get him out of there tomorrow before he spews jizz all over the place and pollinates my Romulan! :scream:

Thanks again. Good save! I appreciate you. You spared me from a painful lesson.

same here! I wait until right around week 3, day 21, of flower to pollinate to ensure there are lots of pistils. If you wait longer you’ll get even more seeds. But the plant must be healthy & growing for 4 weeks after pollinating to finish the seeds.

I usually pick one of the biggest colas and pollinate every single budsite up & down the stalk. I remove the female from the flowering room and pollinate somewhere else, let it sit there for at least an hour & then spray the whole plant down with mist before movign back into the tent.

I also try to collect all the pollen I need from the male within 2-3 days of him starting to produce pollen. The longer he goes, the more pollen releases every day, pretty soon huge amount of it will be coming off which increases the risk of it getting on the females. But it’s not as bad as you think, the pollen won’t magically fly itself onto the females, usually if there’s drift on the air currents you’ll be facing the occasional seed here and there, not buds full of seeds. It also helps to turn all the fans off while doing this stuff - collecting pollen and applying it. For this reason I usually pollinate during the night cycle.

When you’re done collecting pollen off the male, spray him down with water before chopping it up or moving him out of the grow area too. Otherwise clouds of pollen will be coming off as you take him down.

Thank you for that @Muleskinner. I’m afraid I may not have thought it through enough. He’s in a small tent but it’s about 5’ from my flower tent. Before too long I can move that small tent in the house. If I haven’t already pollinated my flower tent, I’m gonna pull him and wait till I can relocate the Love Shack to the house. I’m saving some Romulan seeds for then. Thanks!

Yep, looks like some of those low hanging flowers will pop in the next few days.

Yes, probably so unless you do it before any of his flowers open. It’s pretty hard to spray them all enough to deactivate his pollen after he starts dumping pollen.

Best bet at this point is to chop him down to nothing but a few small branches (removing all flowers) a little early (now), keeping several tops in a vase of water in your house, then moving him and his tent to the house before flowers on his stump start to dump.

You’re lucky because males typically start flowering before budset really happens on females, so if you catch him early, you may be able to time it so his pollen hits a branch or two of the ladies at about day 28, the end of week 4 from flip, to maximize the amount of seeds you get on the few buds you select for seedmaking. This way you get lots of seeds from those buds, but not much else if you’re careful.

That’s what I observed so I’m optimistic about getting him out of the shed in time. In fact he will make his hopefully stealthy exit in about 30 minutes. The lethal injection has been prepared. He will die Texas style. I’m grateful for the advice in the Nick of time hopefully. Humberto dies tonight! That bastard!

Just keep in mind, he doesn’t have to die completely yet. Especially if you want to collect some pollen.

Ms oleskool is not being very receptive to the idea of putting a pollen dropping male in our bedroom. I just don’t have any space to keep it. She said “pollen? Where I sleep?”

I’m experiencing a spell of illegal state paranoia. This has happened once before since I joined the Family and I’d like some feedback from some tenured members. I was contacted by way of PM by an individual who said they just relocated to near where I live in Texas from the North West. Just was asking about grow stores, weed scene etc. I looked him up and he is brand new to the forum with one like and no posts. He has been reading my threads and referred to something I posted over a month ago. No offense if he reads this. Gotta be careful in Texas! Anyway this sent me into a mild state of paranoia. Any thoughts brothers and sisters? I like people that reach out and it’s probably innocent. Thanks in advance. I might have to retreat to the bunker for a minute.

MOD comments welcome! PM me.

Blessings…
