Oleskool’s Shitkicker Grow Show. Navigating the Fog

She said Thank You @GMan!
I’ll see what it weighs. Gonna be 100 again today. 1 more day then temps get reasonable again. I changed my lights on/off schedule so I can feed them etc in the early morning instead of late afternoon. It’s so nice and cool right before daylight. I was tending them at the hottest time of the day. What a dumbass right?

Thanks for your generous offer , I was thinking on 4 or 6, for just one I already have some DWC bucket from my first noobish indoor grow:

It was really easy, just changing water once a week, much faster and productive than soil ejem|nullxnull. For lazy growers it’s a good option.

Not suggesting to change your way no|nullxnull, specially watching your always good results :star_struck:, just to experiment, if you need something big and fast this is your best option.

Hope life treats you good, take care my friend … beer3|nullxnull

I’m not sure you realize just how lazy some of us growers can be haha! I read that and was like,”Change the water once a week? That’s too much work…”

Those were the instructions I received, not reality , won’t say names but I know people that never change it no|nullxnull, just replenish the reservoir … :see_no_evil:

What is that growing in the picture. It looks like some of the giant leaves on what I’m growing these days. Nice plant indeed.

UNSEASONABLY HOT WEATHER TO CONTINUE TODAY AND MONDAY…The first summer heat wave of the year continues today into Monday. High temperatures each day will be in the upper 90s across most locations to near 105 along the Rio Grande. Meanwhile, increasing Gulf moisture spreading inland could leave the area with isolated afternoon heat index values as high as 108. Should conditions warrant, Heat Advisories may be needed later today or on Monday. Be sure to take precautions in the heat. Drink plenty of water, wear light colored and loose fitting clothing, and take breaks in the shade or in air conditioned areas.

I grew up in magical  Marin Co. & went to school with (one of?) Bob Weir’s daughters & my homie owns one of the GD’s old houses. :man_shrugging:

Saw “Crumb” when it came out at the University Theater in Berkeley CA… would fit right in in Austin, probably. The movies always started with a (smoking :smoking: ) John Waters telling us all not to smoke. :joy:

The things we take for granted.

A classic! Wow brother how I would like to sit down with you and smoke 3 or 4 joints. I’m a typical old man that likes to talk about days gone by. Great shit man! Far Out!

Apple Fritter/TropCookies. I cut every leaf that had any sign of PM. Then sprayed them again. So far so good. About 10 days or so and I’ll chop ‘em all down. Then smoke the shit out of it. Nice frosting going on. Still fighting that fuckin’ PM!

Hey @JoeCrowe! I got the flower tents under control somewhat but I just threw out my whole veg tent. PM still around. How should I treat that empty tent? I thought about spraying the interior with an anti-fungal. Can you learn me how to sanitize the tent after PM? What about a sulfur burner in the shed? Thanks in advance for your help bro.

powdery mildew is still there? Did you spray the plants with sulfur, 'cause that wipes it out. It’s not living anywhere else but on the plants.

Both tents are in flower so I hesitate to use sulfur on them again. One of them is almost done. Gonna chop it tonight. I thought I had it beat down then a few days ago I opened a tent and the shit was everywhere! I must be bringing it in from the yard. Like I said, I tossed 6 veglings last night so that will be 2 empty tents I can sanitize. I need a way to get it out of the Shitkicker Shed or it will Just go from tent to tent. Yes. I’m discouraged. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and any one else that has dealt with this spawn of the devil!

My sympathies brother, I wishI had some advice for you but I have not had to deal with it yet. Wishing you luck.

You have to make a clean break during the veg process by spraying the plants before you start bloom. The parasite could harbor on fallen leaves so get them as well. There’s the low probability it could be growing on a plant outside like a sunflower or ragweed. It’s definitely not growing on your shoes or lurking on the walls.
So tell me more about what happened? Did you spray the plants thoroughly and do it twice? How long until you saw mildew? Got a photo of it? Even if you have to harvest your plants early, you won’t be able to break the cycle until you spray all the plants at the same time.

I certainly hope you don’t brother! This shit is insidious and aggressive. You think you’re making progress but it comes back with a vengeance overnight! It’s only May and we are kicking at 100+ degrees almost daily. oleskool might have to roll it up for the summer. Four months of hot, hard work with shitty outcomes and wasted genetics. I’ve got to make some decisions. Thanks for the love my friend.

Overwhelmed…

Yeah, we don’t have those problems here in Canada where I am but I still shut down for the summer. We only get so much warm weather and I got tired of worrying about my plants when I was trying to enjoy time off in the woods. Another month or so and I will shut down till Sept.

Hay @oleskool830, with @JoeCrowe 's guidance, I haven’t seen any PM since the beginning of February. I’d had it for 3 fucking years.

All I did was spray the veggers 2x. I had one bloomer going that I did not spray, but hit with UV-c light, and it never showed any PM after I sprayed the veggers.

The crawlspace is a total disaster area, no way to clean it, so I didn’t try, other than getting rid of any old plant detritus.

I’d think you’ll be good after harvesting whatever’s blooming, and spraying the veggers

Too bad that won’t help with the heat :frowning:

That’s exactly what I was thinking. I sprayed with sulfur twice a few weeks ago when we talked about it. But 4 in one tent were well into flower so the spraying was hit and miss trying to avoid buds. I sprayed every plant at once. The veg tent cleared right up and were spotless. After defoliating every leaf with dots I saw no signs of it in the top third of the flowering girls. 3 days or so went by all good.
It started popping up again in one of the flower tents. I was hand treating leaves with spots. Next I opened the other flower tent and the shit was going crazy in there. Next I opened the veg tent…shit was everywhere! I put tower fans in both tents along with portable dehumidifiers. But the weather is brutal right now. 100 degrees and humidity blowing in from the Gulf of Mexico.
