Abbot and Cruz are scheduled to speak at the NRA convention on Friday in Houston.
They’ll offer up thoughts and prayers tonight, and then this weekend they’ll be guest speakers at the Texas sized whoop it up party with the gun lobby and bragging about how Texas is #2 in the nation for gun sales behind only California.
The pro life party. Not gonna change now.

This is key. I can’t overstate just how much my state of mind has improved since I turned everything off. I mean, I’m still depressed haha, still pretty fucking angry, but at least it’s not on an hourly (or even minute-by-minute) basis anymore. The hypocrisy just gets overwhelming. It’d be one thing if it was a new phenomenon, but it isn’t. Same shit, different decade. Different century, even. I’m just glad I never had any kids. I’d be way more pissed if I knew my offspring were gonna have to spend their whole lives watching the world burn…

I once worked with a guy from Russia. We were talking about gun violence in America. I asked him about gun violence or lack of, in Russia. He told me the only reason was that it was way too expensive to get guns there. So no one, other than the very rich can afford a gun But, he said, EVERYONE walks around with knives. And they don’t mind cutting a mofo, either. He said they have a real problem with knife violence there.

Good on you. I ran into a friend of mine in the pub a week or so ago and he told me he had to turn it all off for fear he was going to have a heart attack, for real.
I’m bad about leaving the news on all day but have started to pull back and turn on the music to get settled down. Like my friend said, “I can’t seem to do anything about it, so I had to turn it all off.
@minitiger, I never married or had children either and these days make me feel like it was best. I can’t imagine what children will be faced with in the future. We’re leaving them a scorched earth. All for greed, of money and power.
@George, half of our country can’t understand the other half anymore. Things have gone off the rails here in the US. Insanity.
peace all, and thanks for the good vibes on the mod thing. Sorry for bringing politics in but when children are slaughtered I’ll explode if I try and hold it back. Hopefully, we can all carry on and find some way to change for the better. It’s not politics, really, more of a humanitarian response.
