Hey @oleskool830, I wonder if you put some misting units in there with a fan on it? Or is the humidity already high there?

Man, we continue to escape that stuff. It never got above 65 today and the wind blew. Tonight we’re supposed to get an inch of snow and go to 29-31°. Another 1/2 inch tomorrow and back to close to freezing. :flushed:

We’ll see how the volunteers handle it. We’ll be back to 85 in a few days. Here’s to cool dreams at least. peace and ice cubes.

The plants actually looked better today. Our high temp today was 91 so it wasn’t as punishing as the last week. Fed everyone a heaping helping of kelp with their food. I’ve got 3 days of coolness to try and pamper them back on track. I’m a dumbass to let this happen. Sometimes it’s so fucking hot in the shed that I just want to feed/water and get out!
Oh well, if it was easy everybody would be doing it. Onward Cannabis Soldiers!

Ayep…. It’s hard work to be truthful about it.

Hey@gman! I did that last year or the year before. It seemed like it was going to help a little until everything got wet! I have a spaghetti bowl of extension cords, plug strips and fans in there so I didn’t like everything getting so wet.

I once built oleskool’s Shitkicker Tent cooler. I’ll try and find a picture of it. Pretty funny. It didn’t work that well and caused light leaks that fucked up my run. Lol I’ve been running water over the roof in the heat of day to try and cool it off for a minute. The shed needs a new roof. When I do that I’m gonna paint it with that reflective stuff that cuts the heat. I hear it works really well. I popped 6 White Widow fems and they are up and growing. I’ve never grown WW before. Should be fun. I’ve got so many excellent seeds I want to run but it probably won’t happen till October it looks like. We had no Spring this year. Straight to hell!
That cool weather you’re in sounds like heaven! I’m gonna get stoned now. After a joint of that Apple Fritter I can no longer type. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Hey @GMan! This is exactly what I put together a couple of years ago. oleskool’s Shitkicker Tent Cooler. Now someone is selling them.

Caused light leaks and the “cool air” didn’t phase the 95 degree tent. We took it camping and it only cooled if you were within a foot of it. Onward!

Hey bee! I’ve been trying to find an old swamp cooler like the ones people had back in the daze. Apparently they’re gone as I can’t find one around here. I remember sleeping in a room with one of those bad boys. You were cool…and wet!

Blessings…

When I lived in New Mexico we didn’t have AC in the house, just a swamp cooler (aka evaporative cooler). It only works in a dry heat with little humidity, but it was New Mexico so it was like that most days. It sits on the roof, cools the air with water, then a big fan blows that down into the house.

Here’s an interesting DIY project using the same principles

Basically, you pump water from the bucket through tubing. At the top of the fan, it has been punctured (acting like a soaker hose) to wet the pad of material, then the fan circulates the cooled air. He claims up to a 30° temp drop.

I call bullshit on that claim. I’m not sure if 15000 BTU AC would accomplish a 30 degree drop in temperature. Not in the hot old Shitkicker Shed! C’mon man. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Blessings….

I got one of those little personal swamp cooler a couple years ago. I think it’s called Arctic Blast or something like that. If I put it in the tent and turn on full blast, and close the tent, it will cool down 5-6 degrees at best. And raise the humidity a good ten percent.

I like that idea of coating that roof. If it’s out in the sun it would sure help. Get some young bucks to paint it on for you.

I remember the the most awesome shitkicker shed cooler from a couple of years back. Too bad it didn’t work.

That sucks about that weather. It’s gonna stretch from Texas to Delaware. It never got above 35° today. Supposed to go back to the 60’s tomorrow and stay close to that for a week. Weird for how it normally goes. I’m not complaining.

I need some young bucks to replace the roof and a couple of rafters and joists. I don’t know any young bucks and I’m afraid to hire a stranger for fear that they can see the tents, exhaust ducts etc. Its been keeping me up at night. Some serious structural repairs are necessary. If I had anyone to help me I could do it myself. Can you just zip down here for a weekend and give me a hand? Lol! My neighbor painted some of that shit on his metal roof. When it dried he could lay his hand on his roof in the heat of the day. You touch my roof and it will burn the shit out of your finger. This summer is frightening so far. Very few butterflies or hummers. Just too hot. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::fire:

These are a couple of SSDD snips that were gifted to me by my brother @HorseBadorites.
They have embraced life and are growing strong. I haven’t popped any SSDD seeds yet. Waiting for some reasonable weather. Can’t risk losing one to the summer heat.

I’m hoping to be able to get a bike eventually. Quite a few people have them here and they look cool as hell. These guys are riding everywhere on them. The state is giving large tax breaks and incentives to get one, too. It would be perfect for using around town.
