Your pansies can join it! They will probably last longer, but shopping for more plants is more fun!
I’m dieing lmfao
Glad to hear your bachelor buttons are hanging in there. I’ve gotten better at watering in the past week then it rained for a few days good ol mother nature helping out I did read awhile ago they like a higher ph too . Cant wait to see pics hopefully they hang in there a lil while longer for you. Where are u located I’m in Massachusetts. Happy growing
Ok good to know, and yes it’s always fun shopping for more plants think I’ll put the rescue pansy out that side, it doesn’t look that stable out there so I’ll try n keep it to 2-3 gallon containers just so it doesn’t collapse on me I really cant wait to move. Anyways so
I got some new guinea impatiens some polka dot plants I think they’re called that will go out that side. Then for the sunny side I got a osteospermum sunset shade figured I had to fill the empty spots just an excuse to buy more flowers lol
Had a productive gardening day yesterday was nicely surprised, went out on the roof bright n early to find both squash seeds had sprouted, wasnt expecting that, it looks like I successfully separated them into smaller containers too for the time being ( just until I get two 5 gallon pots.) The basil is getting more fragrant by the day too cant wait to have some fresh basil to cook with. Planted the new guinea impatiens, and the polka dot plants that i got for the shady side also moved the rescue pansy out there too. Rearranged the roof a lil bit and planted the osteospermum, still waiting on the bachelor buttons to bloom have about 8-10 bud sites cant wait to see what colors they are, the suspencis is killing me lol.

If you can put the Batchellor Buttons in the hottest spot that should help.
Here in Sacramento it’s already brown & dead hell season.
Thanks I’ll give that a try, the roof itself gets really hot it’s some type of metal lol I put a wooden board out there 2 put the plants on top of so the heat from it wouldn’t scorch the roots and damage the growth. Think I’m gunna take the bachelor buttons off the board and see if that helps any. Thanks for the tip will hopefully be updating with pics soon (just got a prof camera my first one too) here are the osteospermum I got the other day that have started blooming so pretty.
Almost forgot the bell peppers have sprouted, now I have those the basil, and summer squash all growing, and next year will hav strawberries if they survive winter we are moving in sept and I’m hoping to have more room for a garden wen we do. The shady bunch are doing great the new guinea impatiens have new flowers opening daily

The shady bunch is doing really well. The impatiens have new flowers daily, and the begonia hasn’t had any more browning on the petals. The rescue pansy is loving its second chance at life too. You would never know it almost died, I showed a women I work with a pic and she couldn’t believe it was the same plant

Found a spider living in my basil took a few pics then we had an intense fight to the death, he almost got away a few times I was faster chased him dowstairs as he tried repelling off the roof. Im normally the one to just let the lil guys live I think it was a brown recluse and I’d feel even worse if it bit one of the kids that live downstairs. Anyway the bachelor buttons are blooming i love all thr different colors that have started to come out pics to come.It looks like the zinnias are getting ready to bloom soon too. Is the black around the edges on the buds normal? Also got a mint plant yesterday still need to transplant it just looking for the right pot think that all I’m pretty stoned I did just fight a spider and journal about it lol happy growing everyone

I think your spider ID is on point.
Normally I leave them alone too but not with kids nearby.
Those Bachelor Buttons are really coming into their own, love your garden.
Cheers

Yep, the zinnia buds look perfect. Bachelor buttons are so pretty! Yay! Flower time!
@Gpaw thanks for the kind words gardening has quickly become my newest obsession. @Meesh the zinnias have already started to open from this morning I get so excited every time j go check on them always something new happening.
Not completely sure wat these are I found them on the squash leaves I removed this one and sprayed down the leaves with water to try n remove the rest any tips on wat they are exactly I’m thinking aphids i could be wrong ive only seen pics online never in person, also how can I prevent them I’m not into using chemicals looking for a more organic solution thanks
Look like aphids. I usually just blast the shit out of them with the hose. You could also use some water with a few drops of dish soap and spray them when sun isn’t gonna hit them. In emergency I use spinosad an organic bugspray
I just wanted to stop in and say how great all your plants look, and what a good read this thread is. Its really awesome to have a garden like that, I mean in such an amazing spot. And true to it you have a green thumb for sure. I love the flowers and everything you have been growing and logging on here. Great job, continue to og.
Stay kind, pawsfodocaws
@Pawsfodocaws thanks for stopping by, glad you’re enjoying the thread so far. I’m amazed at how well all the plants have been doing personal. idk if its dumb luck or maybe cuz I talk to them they are living after all, also try n give off positive vibes it’s a life change I made a few yrs ago for myself love your username btw
We use the water and soap trick to keep them off the roses and some of our other plants. It works well. My wife will sometimes add a tiny bit of cayenne pepper to it if they are persistent. Nice looking garden Budafly. We love to rescue distressed plants, mostly perennials. Great to see them come back looking healthy.
We rescued these two about 5 years ago. That is new growth on the palm that started about a year ago.
Plus some of our new projects from our rescue run.
We use boxes too for most of our herbs and some lettuces.
