Outdoor roof garden in the city working with wat I've got

@Old-Ron Thats so awesome that you rescue plants too i just couldn’t stand to watch it die at my job. I’m so glad I went w my gut and took it home. The new growth on the palm looks great btw. I love palm trees, when I lived in Florida a few yrs ago I would decorate the palm out back with lights around Christmas. What’s the one with the pink flowers called? I’m slowly researching and learning about all the different kinds of plants and flowers. Happy growing

The other is a hibiscus. It was in sad shape a few years back. I drag them all indoors in the winter and keep them going. I find working with the plants and in the garden very therapeutic. It is an awesome feeling to see the new growth or bringing a plant back. I am sure it will also feel the same way to smoke something I have grown from seed too. Looking forward to that this year.

Found a ladybug :beetle: on the bachelor buttons this morning :sunglasses: so I gently persuaded it onto the squash leaves figured nice it’ll have a field day with all the bugs under the leaves think it’s a little to windy rn it was more into the pot itself I did see some thrips running away as it came closer didnt even notice those till the ladybug showed up they blend in w the wooden pot prob got scared seeing the :beetle: cant blame them because of the wind I brought the basil closer so it could get a lil more protection and as soon as it was in the basil I see a red spider mite start running i love my lil garden assassin :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:.

Ladybug on the bachelor buttons

Ladybug on the summer squash

Hanging on wen the wind picked up

Settled on the basil for the moment just checked and it’s still there

Just found some type of egg sacks on the underside of one of the basil leaves

Got a great pic of a bee getting some pollen from the bachelor buttons this morning as well.

Yup. Makes those green little caterpillars that eat everything. Such a problem here, especially for my cannabis, but they eat my flowers and leaves too.

For some reason, the egg clusters always look like a honeycomb to me with the naked eye.

The zinnias are opening more and more everyday one has started to show yellow in the petals. I’m excited to see what they will look like fully bloomed they are giant cactus zinnias I planted from seed along with the bachelor buttons. The basil looks alot better he leaves are standing up more I checked it yesterday after the ladybug left and found a few thrips I’m gunna try the soap and water tonight and see if that help prevent them from coming back, everything else looks good the summer squash has really started 2 take off since being transplanted getting excited for the veggies to start coming the bell peppers are getting there slowly will prob transplant them into bigger pots on sunday
Happy growing :seedling:

O no I feel awful now :disappointed_relieved: :beetle::baby: lesson learned thank you very much. I would of had my own lil army of ladybugs, funny story I actually bought 300 live ladybugs off Amazon our first indoor grow we had fungus gnats they weren’t 2 interested in them so I had a shit ton of them just chilling in the tent probably starving never do that again. Again thanks for the info

Hey it’s OK. I’m still squishing an un-identified thing on my plants! It looks like a microscopic clothing pin(the sewing kind, not the laundry kind).

I just recognized those yellow eggs & presume your visitor “smelled” the aphids & found a good ‘nursery’. Kinda.

:v: :hugs:

Noticed these strange looking black and orange bugs on some of the flowers yesterday. Instead of killing them I tried google first and @cannabissequoia I’m so excited they are ladybug larvae so relived I didnt kill them all lol got pics of 3 different ones. Soon I’ll have my own ladybug army
