Part 2: Fun with Ace - Panama/Malawi/Haze

A picture is worth a thousand words. Many thanks.

:+1: thought that might help. I found these plastic tubs at Target that have a gasket on them that helps seal out moisture. It’s nominally just like weather strip on the lid.

And those ProBreeze things are rechargeable dehumidifiers (amazon). Just a big thing of silica beads with a simple heating device. When you plug it in, it gets hot and bakes the water off the silica. Unplug it and it starts to dehumidify a small enclosed area. One of those is plenty for a box that size… I just have 2 and need to keep them somewhere.

Flower Day 1

Grapefruit, Panama Haze, Wild Thai, Jack Herrer, Jack Herrer

The other wild thai is still in my veg tent. I did a major cleanup yesterday in my male tent, and now they’re in pint sized pots, where they’ll be for a few weeks until they’re ready to go up to the gallons.

Panama Haze is looking like she might get to be a sizeable plant. I’ll probably top her in another week.

In a few hours, I’ll feed them at 0.9EC. I switched off my veg formula to the transition formula to reduce nitrogen at the advice of @limota.

Your grow skills show. Nice. Yes the Panama stretch a good bit and I almost always do LST or even crack the stems or tie down when they are dried out. Sometimes I aim for 15% supersoil to 85% ProMix for those, but I see you don’t need advice. You grow and adjust beautifully.

The four Vietnamese plants are real beautiful girls, but Amazons for sure. Started them Aug 26 and they are way taller and wider than all the other plants in the room.

I think if I made an email account on my phone I could post pictures.

:joy: don’t worry, I always find a way to screw up these long-running sativas.

I’d love to see how those Vietnamese look. Did you start flowering them early?

Nice strains. This will be a fun one to watch. :v:

Believe it or not, I don’t know how to get photographs in to this, or any other site! If you want, send me your cell # and I’ll text you pics.

I have heard that I need to get an email account set up on my phone in order to then send photos to my computer. Is this true?

@limota it’s a little less obvious on phones than computers, but here’s what it looks like on mine. Click the ‘Upload’ button at the bottom and it brings up something to select from my camera pictures.

Grapefruit

Panama Haze

Wild Thailand

Jack Herrer

The Panama Haze was getting a little lanky, and looked like she was going to be difficult to manage without topping. So I knocked off her apex a few days ago and put it in a rooter. I never have great success rates with cloning, but hopefully she takes. After a few days, she’s starting on her next set of leaves on her branches. I think she’s rebounding pretty quickly.

Meanwhile, the Wild Thailand has really taken off. She’s finally ready to be out of her shell and doing great things in the world. Her sisters… not so much. One sister is looking fine and healthy, but is still a runt and appears to be making no plans to pull out of it. The other is even more of a runt.

This a test to see if a pic from my phone’s gallery goes through to OG.

I am stunned! Did the Panama Haze pic appear? From my end it looks like it did.

That actually looks a lot more manageable than I was expecting. Looks like you didn’t even have to top it. I see a few bends on the main stem, which is what I normally do.

Flower Day 13

Apologies for the flopped Wild Thailand, but here’s the group. Grapefruit (left) showing pistils, looks like it’ll probably be the earliest to develop flowers. The Panama Haze (2nd from left) has started bouncing back from the cutting I took. Jack Herrers doing fine. The little bugger in front is the runt Wild Thai. I’ll flower it for a while, because it’s cute.

Turned up the EC to about 1.2. Some of the JH were asking for more nutes. They’re all ready for it.

In other news, I noticed my Panama Haze cutting droop. Turned up the humidity and didn’t see it come back up. So I figured it must have some roots and is now getting too much water. Sure enough, popped her out of the cup and she’s rooted and ready to rock! I’m going to veg it out and take some more clones I think. If it’s a good one, I might use it to BX from the PH x Malawi/Panama seeds I make.

It will be interesting to learn about the high from the Jack Herer. I never grew that because it was so expensive, but did grow a takeoff of it called Jock Horror. That one was popular with the testers and me.

The Grapefruit is pretty impressive looking.

Flower Day 21

Up-potted all of these today. The run wild thailand is really starting to come along. I’m going to keep her even though she’s no match for her sister. Grapefruit is really beasting it out. Panama haze is obviously more sativa than all of the others… she’s gonna be a long trip.

Jack H on top, Grapefruit on bottom for these close-ups. A few more days and these will probably be ready to take some pollen. Panama haze obviously is gonna be a bit longer, but its buds are starting to develop as well.

Wow really?
I would have guessed the Jack on bottom and the Grapefruit on top. Very thin leafs on the Grapefruit, both look great

Yeah both of these seedsman Jack’s look very similar with wider leaves. The grapefruit is really starting to smell like grapefruit, but also somewhat similar to the jacks.

Today was pollination day! Got out my littlest paintbrush and Bob Ross-ed some buds. Pollen from the dry box still looked great.

All 4 strains got Cannabiogen Durban, Ace Malawi x Panama and jungle spice F2#4 pollen. I will probably go a 2nd round on the Panama haze because it’s a little early for that girl compared to the others.

For my future reference:
Black is Durban
Orange is jungle
Pink is Malawi x Panama

More pics coming this weekend.

Loving the sounds of the Grapefruit x Jungle Spice

Me too! It could be pretty crazy. The grapefruit is smelling more like Ruby red then a tart grapefruit, but both are such terpy strains. :yum:
