Pre-98 BUBBA and my search for youth

I started working with a local (BC) Bubba Kush that is supposed to be the mother cut used in Death Bubba. The I also have been going thru seeds of Verdant Green’s P98 Bubba S1 and have an exceptional mocha gassy potent but slow… I mean slow. I like her better than the local cut so chose her to make a cross that I hoped would put some real fuel and potency into a killer hybrid… I chose a really awesome super stinky greasy stemmed (aficionado/mandelbrot )Long Valley Royal Kush male that pumped out pods like crazy and frosted up near the end of it’s pollen dump. I call the cross Bubba Royale and have been sifting through those beans for a momma to S1. I think I have found “the one” and I’m going to flip her as soon as some clones root. Be nice to have another option for a “bubba kush” with a lot more gas than most cuts floating around my area.

I have a true wood burner. That’s a stick pit.
But I know why you say that. Most that have them turn it on throw a log in and done. I let the gas bring it to temp and feed it logs and the gas doesn’t come back on. This is ours

Really thought that you were talking about propane grillin. Those joints right there capable of natural smoke flavors. Although I have zero experience using it, I’d still fill er up with meat and feed the masses.
On another note I kinda like using them two words together

while not as fancy as that unit… which is pretty killer btw
This is our lamb and pig BBQ and can be used as a regular BBQ with the stainless grills installed instead of the Hog Spit and VFD speed control.
It has option of removeable natural gas/propane manifold and burners or fill it with hardwood charcoal which is usually how I use it

See mine doesn’t have that luxury, I’d love to be able to whole hog cook on it. But I’m in the process of building a hog spit with rotisserie ability.

The seeds that became bubba kush were found by kenji , well given to him by josh but he did the pheno hunt., I was sitting around Santa Monica around that time smoking kush and very clearly remember the talk of the seeds being found and who the resulting cuts were shared with. This was all occurring before 90% of the community had even heard of these strains.almost all of the kush and bubba kush were payed for in advance by musicians porn stars and actors at a cost of 480-600 a oz and there just was not enough for everybody who wanted it.

And for the record the 93 bubba, what I think some people call “pre pre” bubba is basically just bubba with a better frame

I first had “kush”, and I recall it smelling and tasting like what we now call bubba kush, just before the summer of 1985. Before then, we called weed “weed” and it was just SOTB brick weed. Then one day in 1984 we started getting “indo” which … back then at least… meant “indoor grown” to us. Indo was bright green, stinky, and sticky unlike the mexican brick weed we usually got…and cost 15 a gram instead of 10-15 an eight :raised_hands: In 1985 someone robbed some of the gang bangers in my small desert community in Southern California of a couple pounds of Kush weed, and that got sold around town by the jocks. The next year, 1986, purple kush came to town and I bought an oz for 100 and it was the best weed I had ever smoked at the time. I still love kushes because of that nostalgic taste and smell that reminds me of the first good weed I ever smoked

The first bud I saw with a name was red hair sensi, I loved the old school purple kush with the musky heavy terps.

Was that robber around the Laurel Canyon area?

Its interesting how almost no canna story involves the thievery that goes on all the time.
