Thanks for taking the time to read the thread :grinning:

Landraces esp isolated populations are known for hermaphroditing

The last Roadkill skunk batches that went around in 95 hermied.

Upside- selfing the skunkiest plant encourages more skunks in the progeny. Also may make all female seeds

Downside- may encourage more hermaphroditing and possibly weaken this stinker line

What we know: most of the most powerful clone only plants came from bagseeds in the modern Era that may or may not have come from accidental selfing or hermaphroditing

Only time will tell. A couple pollen sacs may even allow me to outcross to a few local skunky clones I have

Either way. Gotta add as much value to the situation as possible

I read your whole thread three days ago I think. It gave me the chills, I am in love with knowing the history of certain strains. Like everything about them. Always have been.

I may have skipped that part or gotten confused, but I’m absolutely happy for you. Like…:what are the fucking chances of this happening. This is meant to happen. Lmk if I can do anything to help. (Probably won’t be of any help you seem to have it together)

My while 32 year growing career I’ve always used true breeding females for seeds I released

In this case I gotta do what I gotta do

I cant imagine I will be in the Amazonian rain forest anytime soon. And the journey there was treacherous

Here’s us landing there in 2019

Here’s a couple a faster finishers in the gene pool. They are identical and very very pungent.

Have a very “skunk” expression

Seeds are almost ripe from the 81 rks.

Some more seed pod porn. Phenos are all over the map.

The layer ones are starting to show some successful pollination

Sorry for not doing my best to update this thread.

2 finished really fast and remind me alot of dutch skunk #1.

Here is the second pheno. Middle finisher

This one is graduating into my road-kill skunk project. She is holdholding seed from an 81 afghani kindu kush. Should be epic

This is what I was looking for in the population - a bit shorter. Med flower finish. Soft Citrus and strong skunk . Medium hight to match the flowering time. No hermies. Long big colas with extremely tall standing trichomes.

Here’s some pure peru. Cat piss skunk pheno. Another one that will be graduating. When I first saw the neon green flowers (first time ever in any Latin American country I’ve been to with it) the flower whispered to me “cross me with your most skunky ghani” which I have done.

Later when I was in the jungle and smelled them preharvest I knew that getting em back to Canada was a must. And reinvigorated my passion to recreate rks its seems when we almost or give up on something the universe hands it to us on a silver platter

Beautiful plants! Crazy plane landing as well. When you go to these places to seed hunt how does it go? Do you have set communication with people before you get their? Or is it more get there and start shaking hands and see what you can run down? Or get a guide to take you into spots were wild plants grow and go from there? I think this is amazing and to be able to chase your passion around the world and find amazing flowers to perfect and share! Love watching your grows.

I was out there volunteering time and money to build a bridge at a 400 acre plant conservation.

Wherever I have gone I’ve always bought weed and kept the seeds.

It just happens in this case that I was in the area of production

Well. Basically. Becuase the Peruvian is a isolated and non worked feral colombian landrace.

2 plants finished really fast. Looked a smelled pretty similar to modern sk1. Just more sour and pungent

2 plants (green / neon) look identical but 1 is hazey and the other is like pure acapulco gold or Mexican. Longest to finish

The 2 weak hermies were like straight road-kill (of course)

And this gem ripened fast (medium finisher) its straight rks but with like a dash of og sour. It turned purple too but could be due to the weather.

What a gene pool to play with. I can’t wait to see what the offspring with the Roadkill ghani have in store

Breeding outside has its benefits. But would be nicer to have the space to continue inside

This season thankfully has also yielded some great graduating students.

Beautiful work as always. Right on man that’s good stuff you’ve done for others. Also works to go to amazing places and get smoke and seeds! Makes sense. The fruits of your labor paying off in many ways. Beautiful plants and grows. Looks like got a few beans there.

Here are the neon green hazey mexican and skunky green gold phenos. Identical. They both have the classic long branch expression. The “Mexican” recently just started to turn purple due to a couple night frosts

this here is a #colombiangold #archetype

  • #huge #sticky #calyxes
  • #limegreen #gold
  • dense clusters
  • #catpiss #skunk funk

I knew on my trip to peru that the flowers I bought and saw were one of the ancestors of #roadkillskunk

the plants and smell up stream from my friends ayahuasca ceremony site spoke to me “cross me with the most pungent afghani hindu kush hashplant you can find”

so without hesitation I brought a tiny bag of mature seeds back to Canada to complete my mission in life

there are 2 green phenos. I call this one the “mexican” due too a stronger cat piss skunk and the other the “green” pheno that has 0 purple
both have that cali-0 structure. long reaching side branches that compete with the main stalk.

becuase these plants took the longest to finish. I feel very fortunate that they actually produced some seeds
