I too have a aerocloner and it takes me about 2-3 weeks to get roots and my cuts look unhealthy when they finally root. I was using clonex rooting solution and h202. I have a 65 watt quantum board over these ones with it dimmed to about 20 watts. 24 hours light.

Coco jiffy pucks , clonex gel and propagator works best for me , I also prep my mums aswell tho : )

I have not tried the the coco pucks yet. I know i have seen people root cuts into solo cups of coco though. So, it must be a good option. When i first started about 7 years ago i used rockwool cubes and a propagator. I like the rapid rooters much better.

I prefer peat and coco pellets myself, I use to have clones with roots at least starting to show out of the sides in 7 days, not so much with one of my current strains. When growing in soil, I feed my plants the day before taking cuttings, with hydro, they are always being fed so no prep is required.

By prep im pretty sure ifish was referring to feeding them a flower blend of nutrients for a week or so before taking cuts. Lower N levels and high p and K value will help with rooting. I would say by the amount of roots i have shooting out of the rooters i had roots coming out the sides by 7 days too. Im just happy the cuts look as great as they sid the day i took em.

Yea I should say I feed bloom fert right before. At least I use to when I had my old grow with bonsai mothers. Used just Alaskan fish and Neptune harvest for ferts. I’m using dry soil amendments now, maybe I should still hit it with some Neptune harvest a day or two before cutting.

Purple preflowers! Now you know that’s gonna end up purple. Both of my males are like this.

Looken good @schmarmpit. I woke to this today. Planted my clones into solo cups last night and one of the bastards went all limpy on me. Might have to cut number 3 again.

Might need a shot of viagra to stiffen it up .

Darn, I figured with roots like that they would take right off. I don’t know if I’ve got the patience for this cloning business.

It will probably perk back up. But i will probably grab a cut from low on the plant tonight just in case. I should have hardened them off in the clone dome before cupping them.

And how do you harden them off, if you don’t mind me asking? Just lower humidity, increase lights, etc?

My dome has vents on it i can open to varying degrees. One on the top. And 2 on the sides. Usually after 7 days i will start to open the vents a little bit each day. Eventually taking the dome off completely. Another good way is after a week to remove the dome each for a short period of time. Maybe start at 5 minute. Increasing the time length each day until you just leave it off completely. If you see the plants getting limpy put the dome back on and you know the threshold. Working to get it to the point where the plants dont droop when you leave it off completely. Ive seen people utilize thumb tacks in the tray under the dome to make a space if yoh dome does not have vents.

I dont increase lighting until they are established in cups. Once i know they are happy with their roots i will start slowly increasing light intensity. Which is a new study for me because ive recently switched to QB leds over my cuts and seedlings.

Can’t wait to see how this turns out. I’ve already got some ideas in mind

Looking great guys thanks for all the cloning advice. Putting this knowledge to use as we speak with the sshp cuts i just took.

I seen your setup. I think your good to go.

You maintain a half inch of water in the bottom? Do you mist the clones or the dome? I have a similar setup, but only hit about 25% so far. I followed some bad advice and close the dome back up late, after misting the plants. 8 had not trimmed the leaves back enough, so I got some mold where they were touching. Good timing on this.

The color escalated quickly in just three days. This is about as far as I’ll let a male enjoy the comfort of the flower room. Now I’ll move him into a bedroom closet or something to finish his duty. I should be collecting pollen in the next week or so. The other male looks almost identical.
