Yes! I just got some BD beans from AK bb, and I’m DYING to pop some! It’s just I’ve got an Azad Kashmir seed run coming up…
I just don’t have enough room to run all the things I want simultaneously!!
Excellent, you had said that you were looking for a bit ago. Hope the shots get you more excited. Looking forward to to the azad run your planning also
Looks like you need to implement the doc clock
Then we can all grow everything we have stashed away!!!
Still might not be enough time
It’s perfect wait for a summer with great weather and just repeat it over and over with different seeds each time
Gotta keep the time machine running properly thou…
More seeds!!! I’m hoping there is something special in here. The mom, luana, was an early finisher (end september). I’m speculating that she is some NL or NL hybrid especially after smoking her.
Paired with my select NL1 #8.2. Obvious I’m not completely sure what traits he will pass until I test these out but…… He was vigorous, resinous, had great sweet sour stem rub, purple fade on the pollen sacs, along with a sturdy structure.
Hoping to fast track into a early NL that does well outside.
That sounds great! Extra fast/tough NL. I have been rethinking what indica lines to run outside given how much mold I saw on my 907 Blue Genes. I’m going to up the plant count as well to get a couple examples of each cultivar.
How do you do your branch pollinations? I used a cotton swab but had a comparatively low yield of seeds (10-40) from my crosses 2023 "Field of Dreams" - #1201 by FieldEffect
I thought when I was doing it that rubbing a swab around on the pistils is really difficult to do well with sticky young resin glands everywhere. I think I mostly pollinated juvenile trichomes Maybe a brush is better. Maybe I’m just impatient and didn’t swab long enough or precisely enough. Either way curious how you are doing it so much more successfully.
I normally use a cotton tip to brush branches. I had some issues this year with some varietals not taking to the pollen because of the septoria. Or that has been my best guess as to the cause. Seemed like the pistils took a beating and were unable to accept pollen. Might of pollinated too late or pollen viability was low. Maybe the cotton tips just absorb to much moisture in the field and lowers pollen viability making a brush more efficient. I was also a little over ambitious with the amount of crosses I was trying and wished I would of focused a little more. Always something new to learn each year!
As always, I think my pollination method needs some tweaking as it somewhat rudimentary. I would love to get some baguette bags with the window like rob clarke talks about creating in the marijuana botany book.
Please others chime in on your pollination tips and tricks!!!
I’ll probably be run out of town for this, but I use the tip of my finger
Noooo anything but that
Hey I have had pollen that stuck to my fingers and did the same thing.
Isnt the lizard gone? I thought it was one guy who held it and he passed a while ago
NOOO! Would be a shame to loose a legendary hashplant cut!
Any further information @TopShelfTrees1 ?
Trimming up some NL5 from akbb. This is #3 who had a tree branch land on her during the wind storm, but really kept going even with twisted branches. More afghan leaning pheno than the other NL5 female grown right next to her(#5).
Looking pretty good
Thanks @FieldEffect ! Here she is all hand trimmed up.
Kine Bud #5 - 1st cut from the hoop house all trimmed up. Should have more from the 2nd cut which is rare. Amazing potency from this line. Med-low yielder done in late october. High mildew and mold resistance.
Finished out the 2nd cut of Kine Bud #5. Definitely benefited smell wise with the extra week and a half. Resin seemed a little stickier.
Working my way through this PHK #5 which has an amazingly loud smell. Very pine with the musky vinyl plastic thing. Very interesting to say the least. Super dense nugs that are covered in trichomes. Great bag appeal for outdoor.
