A buddy of mine had a blazer just like that years ago in Alberta. The thing was an absolute beast and the definition of a pig on gas lol
Great shots other then that overpriced , underpowered , hunk of junk . AKA the gladiator . All aboard the hype train hahaha
It actually performed fairly well, I was suprised. He even got a nice set of scratches on the way out.
@ReikoX this is awesome! Here’s our fully rebuilt top to bottom '92 yj and the parts jeep and a new project 2001 zj fully loaded v8 we bought. We just did a full engine rebuild.
You will not ever convince me that they are not trash lol and I am absolutely a Jeep lover . Really can’t believe how expensive they have gotten. It kills me everytime I see a jeep done to the tits for offroading that is nothing more then a grocery getter. Hell it kills me to see a clean one hahaha
This is my stock 2015 jk. The same jeep is 15k more then when I bought it in 2015. But ya it is my daily driver , firewood hauler , and go anywhere I want where I live vehicle. Just hit 165 000 km today . I now have a total of 285 000 km between two pentastar jeeps and haven’t had a single issue with the engine or either of the 6 speed manual trannys. I get 650-700 km per 70l tank .
Currently saving up for a 2" lift with rancho 9000s and 33" duratracs. Which are the best all around tire IMHO . Especially if you have winter driving.
Sorry for the book . Holy shit I am stoned hahahaha
Heh, heh… “hey, hit that mud puddle”! Right on!
Hey @ReikoX, is that west of town where you were? Or south? I guess there’s plenty of off roading land around there.
Haha, both! West past Underwood and South past Southern. The area is called Rio Puerco, but there is no river there are no pigs.
What a ripoff.
Worked on my buddy’s front ARB air locker all day Saturday. Finally got a good gear pattern and everything tightened up according to spec. He will be reassembling the front end and getting it back under the Jeep this weekend.
Nice little project!
Love jeeps… Had an XJ for years as a daily driver. Few years ago picked up an 89 YJ, swapped the 4.0 motor from a 96 XJ into her, changed the god-awful pugeot transmission out for the XJ’s AW4 auto, lots of custom work from, transmission cross member, to rock sliders, to both bumpers, tire rack and roll cage. Put a rail shifter in (allows you to select gears 1-4 on an auto, like its a manual), upgraded the axles to D44 in front and D60 in the rear, with lockers front and rear. About the only thing it didnt have was a winch (because why spend on a winch when ALL the guys you go crawling with have winches you can use?).
Sold her a few years ago to pay for a 6 month stay in Honduras. Man I miss that YJ…
What I started with:
About midway thru her transformation:
Don’t have any finished shots on this phone
I like what you started with better … jk
Whoever ya got it from sure liked to do burnouts in 2 wd by the looks of it lol
A RAV4 is not a tractor or a bulldozer or a crawler. It let me know that recently and shed the belly-pan & fog-light trim. Fun part was only having plumber’s channel-lock’s to unscrew things & laying on the lava rocks. I think one of my shoulders still has one stuck in it a week later.
'Got nice shiny screws holding that bumper cover on. Like, punk rock.
Just thought I’d share that.
Just did the rear main seal in my XJ. Took us right around 4 hours. Now I need a shower, full of motor oil.
Those ones are terrible lol don’t be surprised if it leaks just to spite you
NOT a fun job… I did mine when I did the motor swap. Everything was out and in the open
It did a little from the filter last night. Tightened it up and will see what happens after I drive it again.
worst I ever did was a ford econoline van. smdh
