@Shadey and @Sasquatch by potting it up now, she will be totally covered in new leaves by then  Wasn’t the plan (girl doesn’t smoke) but the timing works  lol I had a basket thing going on, but that looked really boring, really just like a bushy shrub LOL

@MoBilly It is kinda neat to be able to braid a plant, I’ve seen those bamboos in the dollar store braided, figured as long as its softwood, why not (willows are easy to braid). Hmm… now ya got me thinking, braid 3 lolipop’d plants… HMMM

That kind of comment is the type I often follow through with in order to punk someone.
You may get punked @Nagel420 , just give me a year.

I’d be honored to be the inspiration for such a work of art!

I do have one request though… I know she’ll be a lady, but ya gotta name her Howard…

You may remember that I worked for a landscaper for most of my adult life as well.
One of the most unique things I have ever seen plays right into what you are talking about.
One of our customers showed me his bench he created next to his pond when we went to bid on a job for him. He wove young willow trees into a bench then he cut it off and sealed the lower cuts with pine tar and metal caps.
He poured a pad for the bench and then planted Willows at the back and sides. As they grew, he wove them into a semicircle that grew together over the bench.
It created such a quiet and beautiful retreat. The pond was a manicured masterpiece after we finished. lol
See what I did there?
Almost threw my shoulder out patting myself on the back just then. lol

I wish you had a pic of that, it sounds AMAZING!!

People with ponds in their yard generally have some of the most amazing yards I have seen. Some just have an endless supply of funds (One customer, heiress to a fortune made on typewriters years ago) would legitimately spend $5k on annual pond plants every year. Probably spent $10k on annual flowers for the property… I loved planting day there (did it for 7 years), I would make a day of it. It was like going to the fanciest hotel, that back yard was off the charts amazing… And she (the owner) was nice as well, BBQ for lunch, we took our time planting, she chose what went where, like it didnt seem like work!

We didn’t do all that work, just the pond plants (heck, one of our wholesale customers built the pond, not even us!). But wow…

My favorite though? Old Japanese doctor, off the boat from Japan. Truly a japanese zen garden, and I’m betting he didn’t spend nearly 1/1000th what the lady above did. He truly grew out bonsai, and had so many mature weeping pines, all perfectly manicured by him over the last 40 years. Tons of sedum, and most he grabbed as a cutting here or there. To hear him speak of his garden, he had so much pride in it. And I gotta say, having seen truly gorgeous gardens in Japan myself, his was right there with them. We only cleaned his pond / supplied some fish for the man. Loved going to his place as well…

But when nature is used like the willow was at your customers place? WOW… Another show of time and dedication, because those things don’t happen overnight, even with how fast a willow grows…

careful with that arm, it takes us old folks longer to heal up  Do you have some fresh buds as well to compare, or just gonna see what happens?

Not this time, I’ll just see what happens. The arm is healing slowly. I can actually can move it more now.

Dislocated my elbow Wednesday night at the roller rink. Lost my balance and caught the elbow on a table bench on the way down. I wasn’t even on the skate floor.

OUCH!

Yeah, we heal slower as we age, and our injuries come back to haunt us. Lets try to minimize that man!

Hope ya feel better bud!

I use one of them wheat bags you heat in the microwave after doing anything physical with my shoulder bro. Ive found it’s instant relief from the pain of overdoing it. :+1:

That’s a nasty bruise there. Your a trooper having it popped back into place. :crossed_fingers:that there is no connective tissue damage.

I “sprained” my ankle missing a curb, and reflecting now, think I torn a ligament or something. About half the time when doing longish hikes with a load, especially on the way back on downhills it can ache and get really unstable, it also happens just standing around randomly sometimes.

Point being take care of yourself to make sure to maintain full function👍.
