I know right. I called it my skull press. Like a monkey skull! Skol!!
Well itās your birthday, but I got the gift: Ghost Rose arrived today.
Canāt thank you enough @ReikoX !
Yes I built my own 6-ton press.
I got some mail from you today! Thanks alot @ReikoX !
No-till beds at day 18F. I am still getting some yellowing in the middle of the canopy, the bottom of the canopy looks green, so I doubt it is nitrogen. The plants are turgid and the leaves are pointing upward, so I doubt it is over/under watering. Just in case, I picked up a Blumat digital moisture meter to help me with my hand watering. Something similar happened last time and I came to the conclusion it was the potassium silicate I was using driving my pH up real high. Now Iām seeing it again, a couple weeks after I flip to flower. The Zak Haze is unaffected, either she is a lighter feeder, or perhaps my Green Crack cuttings have some kind of virus.
I got tired of guessing, so I finally decided to bring some science into it and took a soil sample to be sent off to the lab. This will tell me exactly what is missing and what is in excess in my soil beds. I took 2/3 cups from each bed in the middle at a depth of 6" and mixed it all together for the sample. The soil seemed relatively moist, two out of three beds had a lot of worm activity. Iām pretty sure I saw a rove beetle or two keeping my fungus gnats population down.
I woke up to a notification that my CO2 levels were below my threshold. The bottle is empty, it lasted me about four weeks of 12/12 at 800 PPM between refills. Itās not that big of a deal to refill, I can do a bottle exchange right by my work. Luckily I have a small 5 lb. tank that I can hook up for tonight while I get the bigger 20 lb. tank exchanged.
Looking forward to the results of the soil sample, hopefully it provides some clarification as to whatās going on.
At my local hydro hut, I pay about $20 for a 20lb refill.
Curious whatās the cost in your area?
About $40 for the 20 lb. bottle exchange.
That must get expensive over time . Iāve never figured out what amount of natural gas mine burns , everything in the house and the burner run about 45.00 a month
It costs me about $10 a week to run the CO2, thats about the same as a fancy coffee at Starbucks. I can handle with that.
Just spitballing here, but turgid plants and leaves pointing upward can sometimes be a sign of Mg deficiency. I always thought āpraying leavesā was a good thing, until a few years ago when, just for a change of pace, I was reading about growing haha. I donāt even remember how I came across it, because I definitely wasnāt looking for āsigns of Mg deficiency.ā
Anyway, soil sampleās been sent in. Youāll know soon enough. Kind of interesting (albeit annoying) that youāre having semi-issues in the no til. I always thought that no tils were just kind of āset it and forget it.ā Kind of.
Thats always been my past experience.
Thatās how Iāve looked at it. Surely it is cheaper to run a burner with propane.
Natural gas is a rip off here. Here a bill like that would be only $10-$15 in gas and the rest as fees. A delivery fee? Give me a break!
Sorry Iām late but, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, @ReikoX !
I finally caught up to your most recent activity! The Friday activities definitely add a few extra posts to wade through.
Also, Iām really curious to find out the root cause of your yellowing. Looks similar to what happened on one of my plants this go. Started in the middle early in flower and continued up to the top. Leaves at the bottom of the plant were fine. Interestingly, this occurred in a pot filled with Michigan M3 Mix and a plant that vegged about 6 weeks longer than all other plants in the tent.
Happy belated old balls
And stop those dibs you trouble makerā¦
Iāve seen you say you enjoy the gamble of reg photos, but now you have a real gamble, gender and auto/photo! This could be a whole new avenue for you, growing f1 gen auto x photo.
@Greasy now that you say it like that, it makes me want to grow them out even sooner!
I love regs, always have and always will. First seed I ever grew as a kid turned out to be a male
Plus the males that donāt make the cut are great for juicing too.
