Lol
This might increase my “bad ass-ery”!?!?
Last week I rescued a northern spotted owl. (According to the Paiute tribe, its my spirit animal. It signals important changes and a need to stay alert.)

That’s a big ass bird, owls are majestic type creatures. I’d like to meet an owl of that size
Should of took the owls advice STAY AWAY FROM BEAVER sharp teeth warning .
Lol. Bro you are a modern version of my favorite childhood movie Beastmaster. Just change the ferrets to squirrels and the hawk to an owl. Sebring out there fighting beavers and slaying sorcerers. My mans you are my hero.
It was an amazing creature
It also had razor sharp talons i was holding onto so it couldn’t injure me.
My neighbor jokes that I’m radagast the brown.
@Sebring. Yeah that def increases your “bad assery”!! Love owls and hawks. But not handled right, they will f**k you up!!!
Those are awesome! Just holding it seems dangerous, with them sharp pinchers. What exactly was wrong with it, that it needed rescuing
It was stuck in a chimney and couldn’t get out.
My wife got me for my 42nd birthday a day at a falconry rescue center in the UK, you get to handle lots of different raptors and in the afternoon you can take some out to fly.
When I was being shown the different birds, I got to have them sit on my hand and wrist some you could stroke some not , I had a gauntlet on.
The guy said, here is a European eagle owl largest owl in Europe they hunt wolves with them in Russia. Do you want to hold it. Naturally I said yes, he said, OK I will need to get the special glove for you, the one I was wearing was 1/4 inch thick leather and really stiff which made me think wtf.
He comes out with this thing like a half arm length double thick gauntlet and says, you will need this, they can easily crush a tennis ball with their grip
So I put it on and he puts the owl on my hand, it’s about 2 ft tall and looked heavy, but to my surprise it wieghed almost nothing, it’s just all feathers, even with this ultra heavy guanlet on I could still feel the pressure of his tallons digging in my wrist and hand. They have ratcheted tendons, so once they get past a certain point they have to fully contract before they can release again.
In the afternoon I got to fly a perrigrin falcon, and a golden eagle with a lure.
During the talk in the morning I queried whether it was right to have birds tethered to a perch all day. I was told they only fly to hunt, if they are fed they won’t fly anyway.
It took 40 minutes to get the perrigrin falcon to come to the lure, he was having too much fun flying around even though they said he was not fed the day before to keep him hungry and make sure he came to the lure. I didn’t say I think your information that they only fly to hunt was incorrect, they fly for fun as well lol.
Just like waterfowl can’t resist water, raptors can’t resist flying. It’s what they evolve to do, it’s in their blood, it’s buried so deep in their genetics they couldn’t resist it even if they wanted to.
I live in Missouri in a rural area. There isn’t anything better than in the spring at dusk and hearing 2 or 3 hoot owls going back and forth!!
got some stay in my trees in the winter, like hearing them.
Holy Shit !
Living in a winter wonderland.I have jumped out of my skin a few times as open my balcony door to go out for a smoke only to have the massive head of a snow owl do a 180 and hypnotìze me with its sparkling yellow orbs and geez its wing span is huge as it opèns its wngs to swoop of the balcony into the winter night.
And summer time up north watching the ospreys dive bomb from a 100ft up into the lake and fly off with a big pike between its talons
I watched a bald eagle dive for a fish and don’t come back up. We saw it floating, and eventually started flapping its wings to swim to a nearby island. When it dragged itself up, rested a bit, then proceeded to keep dragging and beaching a 22-26” lake trout. I got the swim on tape, but stoped recording a second before I realized there was a big fish he was swimming with.
I think I have it set up to work.
(Working on the Fall Box today. Should be able to answer messages & finish packing envelopes.)
Great work done, I like the v. 2.0 but just one question, can you post what strains are going so we know the amount we should pay? Thanks for all your time and dedication put on this …
Thst would be nice to know which one’s are being sent ? And also @Gaz29 wich one’s did you already receive to send out ?
Yeah I have no idea how many strains I should have and don’t want to under send my money.
But I’d gladly just do a flat 20,next weekend, if that would work. Wife says I can spend anymore this week lol
I see the amount based on destination, but where do I add the $2 per strain?
