Blue Dream fuckin rocks, was a perrennial bestseller for a nice stretch. Super vigorous, great buzz, nice taste.
has the ability to go absolutely gangbusters growth wise, I think will really takeoff in that octopot after the roots hit the rez.
from your list I’d pair with skywalker, the two of them for headstash sounds like a nice place to be. when some people still bought cds and rappers posted mixtapes on the internet, that brief period, I smoked a ton of both of these.
Honestly, just following the Athena schedule has worked amazingly well and drama-free. Couldnt ask for an easier grow, other than having to keep up with the accelerated growth the Octopot promotes.
Ive had a hard-on for Skywalker Kush for a while now! Im really wanting to do the Blue Dream/Skywalker Kush Kombo! But LSD looks like a cool one, too. From what Im reading, Its a shorter plant. Blue Dream and Skywalker should be good tent-mates. Runtz is looking pretty cool, too.
IMHO it’s way too much, 1 tablespoons per 5 gallon is more then enough
Also leaves curling up and burnt tips ppms to high
Pushing the limits of ppm and hot feed will stunt their growth and cause lock out
Molasses way too much , this can have an adverse effect on your grow
Molasses if left too long can turn into alcohol
? Do you allow you Octopots to empty between fill ?
I use molasses but sparingly and when I do it’s in a compost tea and I only fill the reservoir to the 1 st level( especially during that time when they drink fast) let it empty them refill with fresh feed.
I’m finding that less is more and better
But it’s what works for me
The more you grow in Octopots the more you learn
Hit the nail on the head. Molasses is sometimes helpful if you’re inoculating soil with microbes and you want to feed them; like @Papalag said, compost tea is the standard way to do that. It has minimal effect on inert media though. Unless there’s organic material in there, the microbes will get busy establishing colonies with the energy they got from the compost tea, then promptly die off from lack of food. Doesn’t hurt, but doesn’t help much either. Putting molasses in the reservoir does the same thing - it helps the microbes in your nutrient solution to form colonies. Unfortunately, the microbes in your nutrient solution are ones you don’t want to be there in the first place, so it ends up being kinda counterproductive. I wouldn’t use any personally, if I were running synthetic nutes.
So happy I did the whole thing downstairs. The original “plan” was to have all in a spare bedroom upstairs. So she wouldnt have to see it, etc…Fuck That. After being abandoned in the house with one bum shoulder and one utterly useless arm, I made the executive decision to keep it downstairs in the middle of it all. That way I can cook, “tend garden”, do some cleaning, sit a bit… basically be a part of it all - not feeling all segregated.
Harvest Day! 1/1/24
Started harvest around 10am. Decided Sunday morning to just go ahead and do it. Kept the light off all that day and decided to start the new year with a sacrifice for the cause, lol!
Last harvest, I pre-trimmed most of the big leaves, This time everything is staying on. All I did was cut off some branches for hanging in the same tent I grew in
Got just the one upper fan (above the light) going on level1 of 10. Pointed at a wall. Exhaust on level 1 as well.
Should be trimming this coming weekend, most likely.
Good numbers for the dry! Im at the mercy of my environment, for the most part. Temperature is right where I’d like it and RH right around 50%. Not bad…
Using the dual ACI Controller 69s. One probe up high, and the other down low.
Thanks Bush Dr! I appreciate the good words. This ones kinda weak, I think. It was a lazy grow with too much time taken between trims, etc. It shows in the lack of stacking, etc.
First grow, I was way more involved. Next grow I’ll be more on-point.
At least now I know what to expect from the Octopot on my coming grows.
Kinda on the fly, lol. A buddy I met here in Vegas taught me a bunch and got me started on my first grow in April of 23, but I dont want to blame him for my shitty maintenance and trimming!
Lol, you’re doing a hell of a lot better than I am, I’d be giving your buddy props… Personally, I’m starting to think my buddy who helped me was more punking me, haha
Looks like everything is still holding climate-wise, so far. Checked out last night and it’s all looking good. It’s a little bit weird having all the leaves still on there while drying. No signs of mold/mildew.
I would expect the RH to drop in the next day or two. RH in my house is around 20% right now. Plant still holding and releasing a decent amount of moisture, Im sure.
