So, did final trim Sunday 1/7/24 after a week dry.
Remember, this grow was hindered by Blackstrap Molasses gone sideways.
Basically, all that was supposed to happen from week 6 on… Didnt happen.
No fattening of buds, no buds multiplying, nothing really.
Lower quality buds (to me) throughout, for the most part. Not bad quality, but not what Im looking for.
Going to cure for a week or three and see how they turn out. May sneak a toke before then. Maybe tonight, even.
First branch to donate the goods!
I really REALLY love the lighted magnifying glasses to the right in the above photo. I used originally with watch work, and as my near-field vision continues to decline, they have become invaluable while growing. They really let me see the trichomes, and light things up well for trimming. Magnification level 1.5 is perfect for a lil bit of vision boost while trimming, reading mfg labels, etc.
Stans always ready with emotional support, lol.
All Done. Yay!
Total take:
292 grams of usable weed = just over 10 ounces.
I collected 7 grams of Kief as well. Not bad. Thats more Kief than my last harvest which was just over 1 pound.
Look at that Keif Mountain!
Overall, I consider this grow to be a failure.
If not for my introduction of Molasses, Im sure I would have seen much bigger, denser buds and closer to a 1 full pound harvest (after dry).
Hopefully, its decent stuff, being stunted the way she was. Not a very tight structure, but plenty of trichomes, as seen in earlier pics.
Was on this cut and trim yesterday from 10am - 11pm by the time I’ve cleaned up, etc. Long fucking day.
Everything fit in three 1/4 lb (4oz) Grove bags I have left from last grow.
A gallon zip-lock bag of leaves, things that didnt make the cut, etc as well. Still have bag from last grow in the freezer. Really need to cook up some edibles soon.
I will say, it took me longer to cut/trim this time than my prior, larger harvest. Trimming little buds SUCKS.
Now I’ve done a Wet trim/Dry finish (first harvest) and a full dry trim (this harvest). Glad I’ve got both under my belt.
I was a bit worried about the dry time due to the leaves, etc. Worried I may get mold or mildew. Everything looked super-clean and no wierd smell either. I’ll keep a close eye as they final dry/cure.
Would be a good way to add a day or two to the dry time in summer (keeping leaves.etc on) when my house is much warmer. Good way to introduce mold in warmer months as well, lol. Something to think about…
