Seed Banks - Who can we trust?

has anyone ordered anything from the landrace preservation society recently? they’re supposed to be a highly regarded seed bank.

i put in an order with them a month ago and received the standard “your order has been received” emails. i venmo’d payment right away and since then i have heard nothing from them. no updates, no shipping email, no tracking.

i emailed them a few days ago and am awaiting a response, but was hoping someone here might know something?

I bought a pack from ChiTown. Excellent service.

I have not had the best experience when ordering from them either. I ordered 2 packs from them on Feb 25th and have not heard a peep from them since. Just sent them another email.

oh man, that is totally not cool. i hope whoever is running landrace preservation society is alright, but if they’re in some sort of unfortunate situation, they should at least put a notice up on the website, or disable orders or something.

please do let me know if they get back to you and i’ll do the same if they hit me back.

do you have instagram? i see they have an instagram and posted about a spring sale (until the end of march), so there’s some activity going on with the company unless those posts are from previous years. i don’t have an instagram myself, but i may create one in order to reach out to them.

I’ve used crop king, truenorth and montreal cannabis.
Cropking: definitely hit or miss on the genetics. Got some nice ones and many mediocre.
Truenorth: has a wide variety of breeders, some great some not. Keeps tabs on their sales otherwise a little overpriced IMHO.
Montreal Cannabis: only a couple breeders. Have limited orders with them. Relatively pleased with most of them, some issues but the company was quick to rectify them so can’t complain.

I think Crop King and True North used to be good but are now just in it as a cash grab. I’ve bought from Montreal and had a good experience. Welcome to OG

Crap King is a group I will never deal with again. They have been caught putting shit seeds into counterfeit breeder packs, no reason to deal with such thieves. TrueNorth is not so bad but they gouge people way to much with their prices. I would only use them as a last resort but at least feel I can trust their products.

I used multiverse for a straight 6 months last year. Hardly ordered from anyone else. Then more and more people started ordering and he started changing everything. A lot of his strains are more expensive and if he gets something “limited” or new, he hyped them up now and charges more or only lets you get 1 pack. Recently he got ahold of some roc bud and would drop them one at a time on different days so the people who got them had to pay a shipping fee on each order. Ridiculous. I haven’t ordered from him in a while.

He has sent out my seeds that I ordered tho. In original breeders packaging. And u get freebies. Always check the freebies page at the bottom where it says “see what we have available here” click that, there are sometimes extra codes for more freebies if you spend over x amount.

Most recent seed banks I’ve tried…

United Seed Bank! They did make good on the above order I placed w them and I got my truffle remix they promised. They have a 10% code and they price match if u send them a link showing the different price somewhere else. Can’t use any other code though when price matching. I tried it lol

Hembra! Super fast shipping. They ship in a box and it’s cute. Not really competitive with prices. They have a rule like you can only get freebies one order per week or something like that?

Insane seeds! Is awesome. Didn’t realize when I ordered from them but they ship from Puerto Rico and it’s just as fast as somewhere like Nasc. Great deals. Just have to catch them. I ordered sunken treasure regs and got ethos regs. Just ordered some masonrie for bc $30 a pk, was $100. Just have to check. They have a few kre8 and others that are super cheap right now too. They do quick little sales that you have to catch. No heads up email or anything. I got my $200 sunken treasure for $120. They accept Apple Pay.

Most recently tried Terpy seeds. Amazing sales. I recently scored a pack of fresh coast truffle shuffle for $45. I’m still not sure about them tho. I don’t think I would make a big purchase w them. Their Instagram is sketchy. I saw some of their in house packages and they’re not original. Look like they’ve been repackaged. I don’t know why they would do that. We know what In house packaging looks like :joy: And they sent a few freebies but didn’t label them and when I asked they didn’t have a straight answer lol “it might be…” they’re slower to respond to emails and ship your stuff too (by a day or 2). They said it’s bc they’re a smaller seed bank. I’ll still check their website regularly bc some of those deals are nuts

I think that’s it. For now. Hopefully for a while. All of these allow some form of credit card payment. Apple Pay, cash app, direct cc payment, etc.

3 posts were split to a new topic: Oaseeds Spain

I noticed that when I kept replying to the email from the employee it got me nowhere. BUT when I went to the website and complained on their “contact us” tab is when I got a response. They’ve just asked for my Bitcoin Wallet address for reimbursement so I am hopeful this will end well.

So I just received my full refund from Oaseeds. I’m very glad that all ended well and I was able to order that actual items that I wanted from another company. They did the right thing but just wished they would not leave items that are not available up on the site or I would actually shop there again. Or if you do want things from their website just be sure to reach out to them and ask if the things you want are actually in stock before you send your money and have to wait weeks and weeks for a refund.

hey @HumblePie420, i just wanted to let you know that i finally got my landrace preservation society order that i placed with them two months ago. no real email communication, and no response after i contacted them a month ago to ask about what was going on. but at least my order made it.

i got some extra seeds, but that’s about it. very basic. i’ve heard awesome things about their genetics, but the buying experience was definitely not welcoming.

i hope you’ve received your order by now as well.

edit to add: i was going to re-use the envelope that my landrace preservation society had come in, and i felt something in the corner. looks like i missed a pack of free malana seeds that they included, so i’ll have to amend my comments from earlier. that was totally my oversight.

still not great in the email communication department, but they did do a little something extra, as well as some extra seeds of the other strains i had ordered. while i’d be hesitant to order from them in the future, at least i didn’t get ripped off in the end.

So glad you got your package finally. I still haven’t got mine. Hope mine is on the way as well but happy to hear that they do actually fulfill their orders eventually.

I used brotanical gardens for the first time and thought I’d give my experience w them.

They seem like a smaller seed bank bc their communication skills aren’t the best. They did email me back but it took a little bit. Took them a while to get my order together too but once it was shipped, only took 2 days. About 10 days from order to the mailbox in the US. I missed their 4/20 sale by one day and reached out to them bc I was going to split a pack w another OGer. They gave me a code to help us out and then the plan fell thru. Memorial Day sale hit and I decided to see if that code was still good and even if it was, I didn’t know if I was allowed to use it with something that was on sale. It worked. So I got 15% off of something that was already 20% off. Pretty cool. Got a half pack of pkbr by in house for about $108 with shipping and all. Plus a cpl free in house seeds.

They take debit/credit directly on their site. This is another one I’ll keep in my arsenal bc they’re always having pretty good sales and they have a huge selection of in house. Plus the fact they sent me a personalized code to help me out says a lot about them. They didn’t have to do that. Pretty damn awesome of them.

DC seeds are the best I have experience. Paul is the man. Our own @JohnnyPotseed has some really great deals. I like True North, @Great_lakes_Genetics . Never gotten anything from them. Payment methods is what holds me back. I like pay pal. Chitownseed @Automatik has good deals also. They give freebies also. Some of the seed packets comes with a seed pack. JP, DC and Chitownseed are the main ones for me. JP deals are the best. Never lost a package. Plus JP has gifted me seeds in the past. He has some good seeds. Peace

I’ve used them a couple times since my last post, and I also really like MVB. It’s my go to pretty much for the time being.
