Chocolate pops up in various strains and sometimes, unexpected.
I have Eskobar’s Choco Rain now, but the last phenos he was selling from it were a raspberry pheno dom. Not any choc reported by others. I went back and read some old threads in ICmag or THCFarmer and people way back were raving over the chocolate pheno. That’s why I kept looking for it.
I also have a few seeds of a strain @Sunvalley made a good while back with Cuvée x Blues and says people were reporting chocolate phenos in them. I have one going right now to see, lol.
I also grew a strain from my buddies at NAW seeds called Cartel Haze. I grew a few I think, but one, the smallest one, as usual, had an insane taste profile. The first toke gave you a nice lemon flavor and a slickness that coated the lips and tongue. After about 3 hits the slickness starts turning into chocolate. I thought it was just how buds are sometimes and I thought it was just one bud. But, it lasted till I smoked it all up in record time. It was some of the best tasting smoke I’ve ever had.
I mentioned it to the breeder and he said they hadn’t seen a pheno like that, lol… Maybe I got the one in a thousand, but I plan on growing them again and hoping like hell to find it again, because you know I’ll clone it this time.
So, in my experience choco strains rarely have any choc imo, but in others it will pop up. I think the blueberry strains cause choco phenos when used in other crosses.I have little experience in breeding so I’m not sure of the science behind creating a choco strain.
I used to get chocolate flavors from the old Colombian Red in the early 70’s, and sometimes in Thai Stick.
I love choco flavors in pot and when you get one you will too! I hope I can find some in the Cuvée/Blues cross. And, I’ll be looking through the Choco Rain, soon.
it was released as fem seeds via sannie’s shop. a regular version was not made by esko.
he only femmed his favorite oax lady (created aztec rain & purple storm on the sidelines)
and then stopped … that was around 2014-ish
that one is not made by myself. the original seeds came from me, tho.
the “rhaspberry haze” was reproduced by the other seedmaker of esko
tributes, named “zanzibar” (we are an army of two, haha.)
RH is pure haze/rhaspberry-goodness.

I’m going to be on the hunt for those flavours when I pop the Chocohead. I mean ‘if I’m able to’ pop them, lol. You weren’t kidding about the toughness. I went to put them in a small container to toss em in the fridge and the seeds are straight up rock solid. Built like a brick shithouse!!

If anyone wants, I got a freebi packet of Zanzibars repo of amnesia haze x chocolate rain. I cut so much of it, I’ll have plenty of it for ages, hell I still have 5 seeds left, as it’s in seal a meals and in the freezer. Very delicious!
I got aother great freebi a few years ago from SH, SFV78, my introduction to Mullumbimby Madness, they took some time flowering, but our fav smoke a for quite some time. Until I found Australian Dead Head, more mullem!!
That is cool Moka, I got a PM on another site, they read it here, and someone I’ve known forever also. I’m just glad the beans get dirty. Zanzibar did fine job with them.

the seeds over at SH was made by the owner of SH himself as a repro.
those sould be quite interesting. (it depends on genetics, but most f2’s
are the “treasure chest of a cross” in terms of phenos, imho).
Hey Santero, is that ISS clone the Breeder Steve Sweet Skunk cut or is it a selected clone from the Federation or Next Generation ISS beans from back in the day? Thanks!
@Alpo I don’t know where the ISS clone was sourced from in the original grow, as anything I’ve searched up from the original breeder of the cross, RedSkyWalker, was at least 10 years old. It’s definitely possible that he used the original ISS clone.
You could send out an email to Seedheaven and ask, since he is the one that did the repro. All I know is, seeing as it’s on sale right now, I’m tempted to grab a couple packs to hunt through and find a nice pheno.
Thinking about placing an order with Seed Heaven and wondering about their shipping options. They have a flat rate standard shipping option (€5) and an international with tracking option (€20). Are they pretty good about shipping with the standard option or is tracking suggested with them? I’ve never ordered with Seed Heaven before. Also, when mailing payment, is it cool to send with just a letter and a stamp or is tracking advisable? Much love
I don’t use the tracking anymore it doesn’t even work when it gets to my country anyways (Canada) I have been sending cash for years and have had no issues so far with regular shipping both ways. What are ya getting?
