Thanks man! Definitely a learning experience, this is my first time growing, I have some clones that are doing pretty good, these seedlings are a little more difficult but I am really enjoying my new hobby
For some reason rain doesnât overwater them. I wouldnât worry about the rain too much, unless itâs crazy wind, rain and thunder storms or something. They are stronger than they look.
I was a total overwaterer when I started. I go to overwaterâs anonymous now, but still have a knack for killing succulents from too much water. For me⌠when they are still seedlings or still small, especially after a transplant and I want them to root out. I never water to runoff. I like to let them search for water in the pot a bit so their roots get stronger and bigger. I give them probably 20% of the volume of the pot. Later after they are bigger and if they are in plastic pots, Iâll water to runoff once in awhile just to clear out any salts that may have built up from the fertilizer.
I always put mine out in a shady place for a day or two, then out into the sun , make the first full day of sun a day your home so you can make sure they donât burn.
So they are looking a lot happier lately (only two left, I gave two to a friend). Iâve been experimenting with some dry cycles. I feel like I was definitely over watering them and that was stunting their growth a bit.
What kind of soil is that? It looks like yard dirt. If it is you wonât have any success with them.
Thatâs just the very top layer, its actually just a couple jiffy pucks ripped apart
