This is the 4th and tallest pheno of the DLA 5 F2. Looks nothing like it’s sisters. Smells nothing like it’s sisters. She almost died halfway through flower and never fully recovered it seems.
Day 30F and 27F (pics taken Monday) respectively for the 2 Sakura phenos. First one is several inches taller, did a quicker 2 times stretch wookie leaning seems.
Wow man, nice job! Sounds fucking amazing. And the leaves looks a lot like bubba kush to me, but the buds look like the keeper Dank Sinatra you find every 20 or 30 females, maybe a little more foxtaily but not much.
Makes sense because DS is LA Afghani x 88g13hp. You get random tall ones out of the DS F2 too. Gotta be something buried deep in that Afghani lineage. They’re like half sisters. Gorgeous plants!
Yes indeed. The DLA 5 were amazing and so easy to grow. Quick finishers. Complex smells. Would make great hash if I knew how lol.
As for the Sakuras. On the shorter pheno I’m getting some fruity, kushy ,earthy , rubbery notes. Can’t really pintpoint the fruit but it’s pleasant and not one of the citrus notes like lemon or orange.
The taller pheno is almost all lemon pledge/pinesol so far. Very resinous although you can’t really tell from pics.
@Eudaemon - I’m said riu guy. Glad to join this forum and heard a lot about it years ago. Joined riu in 2010 when I started growing in Sonoma. I’m the manager at Ok Clone Co. now and we run a lot of the genetics I collected since 2011. Some of the Bodhi stuff I have was collected at Kind People’s dispo in Santa Cruz and back in 2013. But we have over 20 or so different breeders gear not just the B man. Bodhi brings so much diversity, which is what I have always sought. Not a big hype strain guy and enjoy true exotic smoke, exotic meaning not many people have it.
The way we test is we pop 50-100 beans a month of different breeder gear, including some of our f1 in house pollen chucks. We clone them all when ready, then flower them all. IBL males are always kept for open pollinations and outcrosses. Select other males are kept if they’re deemed special. We flower out the females and smoke test. Specifically, I select for effects and value a wide range of effects. The losers get tossed and only the winners go on. We retire some clones and keep a lot of the building block stuff around.
We tried to establish a go-to place for genetics where our customers know exactly what they are getting, hence posting splashy seed pack pics so they know the lineage.
@nube I just found another female of the Dank Sinatra f2s you gave me and flowering her out now. Will share with folks and credit you, as long as it’s still okay with you. Please lmk if not.
Happy to see other people growing them out. I appreciate you asking, but please do what you want with them - they’re your seeds now!
Since it was open pollination with multiple males and females, I think you’d probably want to hunt 30 or 40 females before picking a keeper. That’s why I tried to give everybody 50+ seeds when I gifted them direct. There’s a bunch of good ones to be found, but there’s a couple special phenos, like the blueberry skunk cut that several people have found.
Thanks @nube! Really appreciate your generosity and the insight. Of the approximately 30 seeds you gifted, I’ve popped all but 11. Flowered out 3 females previously but nothing great so far. If we don’t find a good one we won’t release it.
Be glad to send you some beans sometime for you to try out. Or a cut. Our Too Buku (Vietnam Black/Thai x Herijuana) has received a ton of positive reports in the medical scene testing up to 26% thc and up to 11% cbd. Reports of helping with sciatic nerve damage, migraines, eating/stomach issues and more. Anyone else too. We give out more seeds that we sell just hmu.
No, you misread. I said we “flowered out 3 females previously.” The first round of 10 or so were tossed and didn’t do well. Was probably our fault. You sent me 20 or so more. Popped another 10, got 3 females but they didn’t stand out.
No thanks if we don’t find anything from the next 11 beans or the one flowering now, God doesn’t want us to have Dank Sinatra lol. Seriously though, we have a ton of seeds to go through. 8000 right now according to my spreadsheet and I just ordered another 200 seeds online. I have an addiction.
@mantismedgrower Happy New Year your Buku stain you mention I’ve got a friend that’s had a spinal cord injury and has several sciatic nerve attacks monthly .I’ve gotten him growing in the past year and thinking that strain might be something he can benefit from if your offer still stands ? Thanks Shiska
Please dm me and I can send you some. All I ask is for you to share a post on this forum if it helps you or someone else medicinally or not. Grow reports would be a nice plus.
Depends on the goal, but I’m not really searching for a male per se.
Goal was to collect and start a ton of IBLs. f2 and outcross IBLs with standout other IBL females, f1 females and sometime polyhybrids. Along the way popping the f1 hybrids to learn how both the moms and dads mash up. Using that info the help bring the “right stuff” out of the females. For instance, I love the Pineapple Thai high with the 15%thc/10%cbd cut I got in Sonoma circa 2012, but it yields low flower, yields low dry sift %s, and is a finicky woman. Crossed the Pineapple Thai with Monkey Balls (deep chunk) males hoping to find some PT leaners with improved build and yields.
Most polyhybrid & hybrid males, once sexed, are put into a small room to flower out. We were watching for a resinous male (per Bman potcast) which I had never noticed or seen before so we let the males go. Found one out of a couple hundred or so males that flowered. Testing him now to see how he mashes up and compare him to the moms’ flowers. Over Yonder #1 (Vintage Pakistani x Big Sur Holy Weed)
