Señor Christmas' Fuck-Ups (And Downs), 2023 edition

You are not playing around with that LST.
Starting them young…

I had one of the Purple Punch x Do-Si-Dos (PPD) grow a few nodes recently. Then it stopped growing upwards. The lowers started growing out as you can see. Then 3 little stems started to grow almost like it fimmed itself.

Had no choice but to LST so the 3 little ones on top could catch up.

You Know I Will Be :watch:ing your grow :call_me_hand:

Great thread. Those budshots looked amazing… I liked that Moonshine Haze. Always wanted to try that.

Always welcome bro, can I offer you anything to drink?

I’m so psyched to try this slurricane, I haven’t smoked it since I got an eighth a few years back. It was $90 for that eighth, so that’s why I only smoked it once lol.

Dude!!! That’s sick that it responded that way with LST!! I had a Kali Snapple Cheese plant do that last go-around, wish I could’ve kept it. I’ll post some close ups of the PPD tomorrow, they’re responding great to LST which is real refreshing.

Thank you bro :pray:t3:. Solfire’s got some good stuff, look at this Dante’s Inferno cut (mile high dave’s)

(not my pic)

I’m hoping for a pleasant candy dipped in fuel terp profile with this G-Ride. It seems I have two distinct different phenos within the batch too. Excited for what they hold.

If that moonshine haze is a keeper, I’m definitely down to send you a clone.

I’m trying to tell y’all; they like it a little rough.

I’m going to be transplanting some plants today, I feel like they’re ready but I’m what unsure if I could get some more root development out of their current container. What do y’all think?

It’s getting cramped up in this 2x2.

I’ll be transplanting the rest of the gals whenever the pots I ordered come in. I’m so used to being limited to three plants that I forgot I don’t have enough materials for a bigger grow.

I’m also dealing with some curling. I did some extensive research ( a quick google search) and saw that it could possibly be from lack of nitrogen. One of the G-Rides was also curling as seen in one of my earlier posts , I raised the feeding up slightly more to counteract it and it worked. I raised it once more hoping to finally hit that sweet spot, because we’re rapidly approaching nute burn territory.

It’s day 22 and I performed the first flush on all plants. Typically I’ll flush after 3 feeds, but since I’ve been struggling with finding the right nutrient quantity, I haven’t done so. I’m still experiencing some deficiency of some sort however. Here’s a pic.

I’m upping the base nutes from 12 mL/gal to 14, which is high as shit imo. AN recommends 16 mL/gal at this point, but I’ve never gone past 8. Figuring out how much nutes to give the seedlings when they’re little is pretty whack, so when I pop my next seeds I’m going to plant them in 50/50 Happy Frog/ Ocean forest and eventually transplant into the 707/HP mix. It’s just easier this way

The seedlings in the starter pots have over stayed their welcome and should have been transplanted into the bigger 4 in containers. This will be done tomorrow along with the increased feed.

Now that my 2x2 tent has opened up, I can start to dabble in some breeding. I’ll be starting off with Crickets and Cicada’s PNW Hash Plant AKA Skelly HP AKA PUCK Bc3. I’m hoping for at least a male and female so I can create some seed stock to go hunting for something special. If not, I’ll find a keeper mother/father for future use.

I don’t have anything planned with this cultivar, so whatever comes of it will be sitting for some time.

Look at my view while I was typing this

Life’s good. :sunglasses:

This little heat mat was a bad idea. Dried out the bottom of the paper towel real quick. I’m hoping I didn’t fuck the seeds germination because of it. Luckily no tails had popped out and the upper side was still ㅤ m o i s t ㅤ , so there’s hope.

I guess this wouldn’t be Mr.Christmas’ fuck-ups if I didn’t have any.

Also, I’m going against what I said last night. I’m not buying ocean forest, or happy frog, or these little peat plugs that I was going to germinate in. I have to stop spending so much money on shit that I really don’t need. The whole purpose of me switching to 707/HP was to control the nutes from the get-go. It might take me a bit to figure out, but I’ll get there. We’ll get there. A bit whack, though, since I’ll be switching to Drip Hydro nutes after these AN nute bottles are empty. We’ll cross that bridge when we burn it, however.

Here we go.

I’d say I’m hoping for a bounce back, but there’s nothing to bounce back to. These poor gals have been hurting for a while now, so I’m hoping this increased feed gives them a little pep to their step.

All the G-Rides had great root-balls, but out of the others; Super-B #2, Bombay Crush #2, and PPD #1 stand out.

I’ve used a variable transformer to control the heat mat before for exactly that reason. Now I manage without the mat.

Cheers

I woke up at 3 AM stressed about the seeds and put them in a cup of water atop the mat. I already see a few seeds cracking, so maybe the heat mat helped out in the end lol. Definitely won’t use it for paper towel germ again, lesson learned…

Hey Senor Christmas’, I found setting my controller between 74f to 81f to be the sweet spots in my area, for either germination of seed, or pulling roots from cuttings.
I also found a You Tube of a gardener, using Aloe Vera leaf, to make a concentrate, for a rooting aid.
It’s been about a month for me, and due to all the positive results so far, it will become part of my rooting/cloning tools from now on.
All the best to ya!!

What it do bro! This thing is some cheap one off of Amazon, so there’s no rheostat to control the heat. I’ve heard people having great root development using Aloe Vera, but never have tried it myself. I use CloneX for clones and then use GH rapid start for root development.

10 of the Skelly HP seeds popped, I went ahead and planted them. 4 remain uncracked so I placed them in a moist paper towel and placed them far away from the heat mat lol.

Aside from the grow though, I purchased a down stem from an online website that you can place activated charcoal in. I’m a heavy smoker and have been worried about my lung health lately. Anyway, here’s the pellets after a days of smoke.

I don’t think I can go back to smoking without this.

Well I fell down that rabbit hole, as I knew nothing of the downstream deal.
Got to looking about a bit, then realized, I know almost nothing of todays world of smoking devices, bongs and rigs, nails.
So Thank you, as that downstream does look to offer healthier hits.
I’ve tried a few things here and there, but we seem to just either roll joints or edibles.
I always thought the AV juice was just hippy shit, and I stand corrected, on that.
All the best!!

I had read about activate charcoal bong mouth pieces on another thread here and went digging too. My lungs have gotten pretty jacked up throughout the years so I want to take care of them as much as I can. Let me know if you snag something similar!
