A little past the 48h mark on the cacti seed. A third Pedro has shown an orange spot like the other two.
As for the Yotes, I noticed one seed (which took forever to even spot) has some teeny teeny tiny hair like growth on one side. So either some sort of mold has formed, or germination has begun… lets hope for the latter.

A couple of the Pedro seeds have noticeable growth this morning!
Here’s a pic of the larger of the two I can spot
The Lopho it’s still early to tell but the potential mold is seeming more like germination, it’s not spreading like you’d expect mold to. Here’s hoping!

Also, Pere is doing quite well, a little bit sun burnt on the tips but nothing too significant. These things definitely grow like weeds!

Managed to snag a pic of one of the Loph seeds. This is either really good, or really bad.
I see some green, so hopefully good

Whelp, I think the seeds that I can see have some sort of mold growing from them. It’s this hair like stuff with bulbs on the end, quite similar to what a trichome looks like.
It’s very similar to the mold in picture B below (not my picture, just found one that’s similar looking to what I saw)
I’ll wait a while to see what happens but currently prepared for the worst, Ya win some ya lose some.

I often walk around like this. I know the theme music and everything.

It’s a good one to have in the repertoire for sure, tried and true

Aww shit man…that sucks. White furry stuff and plants aren’t usually a good combo.

It happens, there’s still a few seeds I can’t even spot so hopefully they’re free of mold. I’ve read that it’s easy to mistake their roots for mold but the stuff above doesn’t look good at all
On the plus side I just spotted one that has a green microscopic dot coming out of the top and no fuzzy stuff so here’s hoping

All is not lost, there is a hero in our midst
Smol cactus for the win. It’s even got a little shell as a beret, er um glorious knight helm

Plumped up over night, no longer microscopic!

Morning!
No sign of any other seeds germinating yet but we’ve still got our valiant knight!
Also looks like a couple of the San Pedro seeds got smoked by the mold too, hopefully we can get one to germinate.

Happy Monday!
It’s a celebration!
Our yote has some new company! another seed has started to germinate!
…but it’s not all fun and games
We’re going to need to get some peroxide to spray the mold down soon. It’s in close enough proximity to the new seedling to be a problem, another option is removal. I’ll probably do both

Here’s our overview of the battlefield
-The green circle is where our new friend resides
-The large top right x is where our mold is spreading from
-The other two x marks are seeds that got hit by mold that’s not spreading yet.
We’re surrounded!
Off to the far right is our first yote straight chilling in safe territory
We’ll win this war.

Hey @SensiBowl , when I was growing cubes and got a localized mold contamination, I would spray an appropriate sized papper towel with iso and lay it and leave it covering a slightly larger area then the contamination. Less likely to damage friendlies with accidental over spray. Anyway, it pretty cool to watch, thanks for the updates.

Good call, I know the cacti can handle diluted peroxide once they’re a little older but not sure how the seedlings deal with it. Better to play it safe for sure, cheers for the tip!
Cheers, figured I’d give a good play by play of the germination process. Always good to have something to reference later too

In other news, these plants have started to hit the overdrive button and are filling in quite nicely, flip time is just around the bend, I can feel it!
