We spend 50 % of every day doing that, im retired 
YES, very tight knit family, they love to play and all super super healty and fit. I run them about 10 miles a day on my Ebike. Since they were pups(not 10 miles as pups,lol)

shepherd dogs (not only German and Belgian) are distinctive with the mind. I have a local , aboriginal breed , I didn’t even imagine before , what they are , until I didn’t
raise one myself

They guard mainly sheep. Sheep farming here is from ancient times and because of many predator animals , loss would be great, without these dogs. mainly protection necessary from wolves , you know how clever they are. thus who do not understand wolves strategy, will not survive. most of breeds fear predators , but not these. they even fight with them. also with bears. but beside strength and courage , very important is mind. e.g if dog will follow wolves and go far from sheep , this mean drawback of dog. poor dog will become dinner for wolves and sheep will attacked with other group wolves.
Necessary also high tolerance - Traveling 30-40km a day , because of the seasons (to the mountain and back) and there is not suitable food. ~8 year life when work , ~15yrars if you keep them at yard.
over time genetics become strong. natural selection because of like this environment. weak ones will not survived , strong and smart yes…
Also our ancestors crossed their dogs with wolves , for better I know this is true.
Today there is very rare old genes, because of dog rings, because of money. Mixed-up with other breeds, mainly for more weight… did anything reminds this situation? lol

Nagazi. Under this name , I consider only the genes , preserved by shepherds , Until started the massive mixing with other breeds.
They are Not heavy , Aboutt 50-65kg rarely 70…

Chompy McGrowleyFace has made it to 8 weeks and to celebrate he flipped out the other day and very fittingly managed to get 7 punctures between my two hands for his 7th biting episode. He was sitting right beside me when he snapped, so it was fun trying to extricate myself; apparently he was very emotionally attached to the piece of fuzz on his lip from destroying a toy. So it’s been a pretty quiet week while I heal enough to get back to the norm, I’m currently taking bets on when the next freak out will be: it was 20 days between chomps this time, 24 last time which is still the standing record.
