Sick girl in flower needs help! Coco & LED grow. 🙏

I need some OG advice. I’ve got 4 plants, 6 weeks into flower, growing in coco/perlite under a 550watt QB. One girl, DNA Genetics Strawberry Banana, is showing a deficiency while the others are fine.

This is directly under the light about 8” away.

This is farther from the light.

My other 3 girls are about 17” below the light.

I water all 4 the same exact thing. Is it the strain needing something more or light burn?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I’m no expert with coco , but you need to provide more info . Nutrients your using and at what strength . How often your feeding and PH of course . There are some coco experts on OG that can help you I’m sure .

50/50 mix of Jack’s 10/30/20 & 5/12/26, 1tsp per gal.
Cal-Mag Plus, 5ml per gal.
Superthrive, 1ml per gal.
Flower Fuel, 1/4tsp per gal.
PH adjusted to 5.8.

Water 1 gallon per 5gal fabric pots every other day. Thanks for the help!!

Hey there, I’m a soil guy but I have seen a few time on here that with coco you need to really let them dry out. Coco does hold moisture longer then soil… You may be just over watering.

Looking like regular autumning with a hint of a cal def or salts built up… But this far in, the possible cal def isn’t hurting anything, just not aesthetic in the leaves and aren’t going to turn it around…

Could be the gal a day watering that’s doing it… Can water coco everyday like all Automated and such, but as I’ve found out, just topping them off is fine…if it’s a little light feeling give it a small drink and checking weight again later …

Could also be salt buildups in the media, do you give any plain pH water at any time during the veg/flower cycle or just ramp up nites til flower formula and stay there?

I have not been giving plain ph water. I did hit her with sledgehammer day before yesterday and then watered with recharge yesterday. My plan was to feed as normal today, just a top off like you were saying.

Another question to ask is what are your temps like ? im going to guess in the colder range of things, also consider raising your pH a little from that 5.8 to say 6.1-6.2 region as calcium is easier taken up in those ranges, mind you damage is already there all that can be done is keeping them happy…

Around 75 degrees f. at the tallest part of the canopy. This plant is showing the worst effects where it is closest to the light.
Could I have some light burn or is it the fact that the light intensity is causing the plant to use up its nutrients at the tops?

More the light intensity coupled to the lower temps doesn’t allow the plant to cool itself through transpiration, so its taking damage in the process something ive been coming to more awareness of with led growing and higher light amounts

What MrSparkle said on ph.

No experience with 5 gal pots indoors. I prefer smaller pots. Preferable bearded from air pruning / rootbound before flip.

If you know the weight of your jacks teaspoons, I can break out the ppm numbers.

Just my opinion but I doubt very much that its light burn . You can raise your lights . At this point in flowering I would think less is more . LTFA maybe . How long do you think they need to go ?

At least 3 weeks, aside from being ugly, will this try to finish or start to die off?

I was wondering if you would chime in . :+1:

It might be too late because most plants are ready to harvest after 8 to 10 weeks of flowering. In some cases causeing nutrient lock.
What I would do is stop giving it nutrients and flush it for a couple of days then give one last feed of bloom and molasses in between days. Humidity, space and moisture can also be factor. Did you know constant spraying water on your plant can also burn them? Best of luck.

Heck ya she will finish.
Keep her happy.
Maybe feed at least once a day if possible.

Feeding lower ec, more often can help prevent buildup and imbalances of elements.

You got this.

And.
Break out that old coke scale and weigh the powders. :peace_symbol:

This is a similar combo I ran most recently. Not suggesting you use this, just showing the detail.

From my experience, it’s a late stage magnesium deficiency. Oh, and NEVER let coco dry to much. It will cause salt buildup and burn the shit out of your plants. JMTC.
