Slick1's AUTOpilot Grow

Thanks man, they get all the credit! I just check on them here and there lol

Appreciate it! Pretend not to notice all the mistakes I make with them!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in all my years growing cuz…Marijuana is one helluva forgiving plant! You can slap em, kick em in the ass, and tie em down… and they’ll still produce!

I’ve referred to it occasionally as ‘the Timex watch of plants’ lol takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

I’m actually using your worm casting method right now for the Lebanese that won’t crack. Gotta get a heating pad under it though. Might have to do some scarification too at this rate.

I’d recommend the scarification cuz, if they hard as you say. And definitely get a heating pad (insulated extra) under them babies!
They don’t need a lot of heat, but they do perform better with a bit lol

using my method, I mean lol
Good growing vibes in the air for ya cuz

I just gotta wrangle one of the heating pads away from the GF who somehow took charge of them somewhere along the way

Funny that you’d say that, since I’m just now coming to the conclusion that I may have killed another three seedlings by overwatering. :frowning: I just really suck at this, wonder how many hundreds will have to die before I figure it out.

It happens to ANY grower, trust me when I say that cuz lol
It’s like that old saying about 'it’s not a question of ‘if’, but rather a question of ‘when’. It happens to me even now, occasionally. Not often but it does happen to any grower, if they grow more than one in their life!

The trick, I think is to go by the rule of, ‘The smaller the seedling/plant, the less water you give it’

Have you grown anything to completion yet?

I’ll let the leaves (or sometimes the plant itself :grimacing:) go limp so I know the soil has dried out. I’ve read things before stating that a little bit of drying between watering is beneficial and it’s worked for me.

Also that whole thing about watering until a percentage is in the pan below the pot doesn’t really apply to seedlings They really don’t need much water.

When dealing with new/fresh seedlings, a thimble-full is too much almost

Kind of. I’ve had them growing here and watched them and done occasional maintenance, but haven’t taken care of them from start to finish alone yet… seedlings are my biggest weak point, never worked with them before because I tend to be clumsy with them. One of these three might not have died from overwatering because it died from a torn stem first, not 100% sure. It was also some random genetic jumble that might’ve been untested, so maybe it just couldn’t hold itself up at all. :stuck_out_tongue: I never even know what’s going on that I’ve messed up on, sigh.

These were 6 days old and had stretched to almost 3 inches looking for the light, not sure where on the spectrum that falls… I do know that actually wetting a whole 1gal pot for a seedling is probably too much at this point, I guess. Especially by tomorrow when the Gorilla Bubble probably keels over, at this point I might just be worrying. Sorry @Slick1, completely hijacked your thread here. :stuck_out_tongue: Very nice-looking plants, as usual, except for the one you’re deliberately poisoning anyway.

At that age and size, they can still be easily ‘damped off’

Sorry for the bit of ‘hijack’ here @Slick1 but just trying to give a little assist

As long as your soil isn’t too hot seedlings are usually pretty self sufficient and need for almost nothing. Besides genetic things/age I think helicopter parenting is usually the culprit, and like Johnny said no one is immune from it.

If I had any photos in veg right now I’d throw you some clones and see if you faired any better with them but it will be a minute until I reveg the Pennywise.

WAYYY too much! You gotta think how tiny those roots are and how little they need at first. A shot glass at the base is plenty at a time.

My thread is open for whatever too so no apology needed man, all good. And even the one I’m poisoning is doing better than some in the past where I was doing my best! It’s going to hurt to shitcan all that bud cause of the silver.

Same thing I told Cormoran, all good and everything goes!

Er. lol I believe @Cormoran is a lady…? From things said here n there, I might be wrong, and if so, i apologize cuz

Shrug, I’ve managed to get a few past seedlings already, I have 5 more germinating and I’ll eventually figure it out. Just annoyed with myself because one of the ones in soil now is a Gorilla Bubble seed that I wanted to make clones of myself, and try to make S2s from… only have 4 more of those. It’s not dead yet, but it seems like it’s kinda stalled out and the cotyledons are drooping. Who knows, maybe it’ll survive… and either way, I certainly will. As far as clones, yeah, I’ve cut and rooted plenty of clones before and have near 100% success rate with them. I figured I could treat seedlings kinda the same and was very wrong, apparently. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ideally I’d like to know how much to get the soil wet enough that they can grow for a while without needing maintenance, but dry enough that they don’t immediately die off like this. Just a bad set of seeds to be experimenting with, sigh. :frowning: I thought I had it figured it out since the Foxtail Skunk seeds I germed are growing fine, but nope. In retrospect, thinking of how much I used to water the 7gal pots I use for mature plants, I probably should’ve put about a pint in rather than 2 quarts. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m clearly way too polite, need to start talking about bukkake and finger cuffs more to measure up to @Slick1’s manners. :stuck_out_tongue:
