It is time to start a page - this will be my first official grow log since early 2000’s. I had used a website years ago and couldn’t for the life of me remember which website or where to find it, it may have been OG even, but it looks like it disappeared because I was unable to find any of it. It was a grow, in my tree house (sunroof) - I must have been 17 and would drive around to ‘steal’ a wifi signal to upload the log, I was worried about getting caught as it was still illigal at that time. Since legalization, it’s been a liberating feeling to be growing within my rights. (Canada) I now have a script and my plant count accommodates the breeding projects I have been undertaking.
I am fairly excited about this one. I have yet to hunt through this many plants of one cross and am looking forward to exploring the range on this group.
The f2 seeds are from @BasementBeans - the cross he gifted me is Tiger Berry x Chunky Mint Kush (Inebriating Mint x SoilTech’s Greasy Mexi) - he had used my CMK, and I felt bad because of the intersex tendencies and maybe should have not shared it at all. To make up for this I am hoping this next generation will take a step or two away from these tendencies.
Since moving out to a remote area, at a higher elevation and a latitude to match (53 degrees) I have been extra creative with growing solutions. It’s been much more challenging than I’m used to. Short seasons and cold winters. Enter the ‘wig wam’ - I use poplar saplings run into the ground and created domes - in each ‘segment’ where the branches crossed, I would cut a piece of poly to fit and use blue construction tape to hold it tight to each side.
I’ve since had about 5 domes over 2 winters - I discovered they grow alright but every winter the snows weight destroys them. Because the plastic isn’t easily removed, it is crushed, and it does not remain standing.
Last season I did some peppers in a hoop house styled in the same fashion.
Well now it’s time to apply what I’ve picked up - I’ find the hoop houses much easier to make and just as effective as the domes.
This thread is dedicated to the 80 plants growing in hoop house. I will hunt these plants to progress the ‘Tiger
Mint’ line to f3. The hoop house is setup in the swamp - it is the most open land (sunny) I own, and most of my property is swamp - so I’ve adjusted.
89 of 90 beans popped.
.They have all been up potted to their first pot and are grooving in their swamp house.
The water should dry up by August, until then it’s rubber boots.
I will begin light dep in about 2 or 3 weeks. I’ve got the perfect tarp - will share it with you all on a later post.
I hope some of you will enjoy the adventure with me as I see these through to seed.
