Sons Of Avery's Organic Grow Journals

Flower day 41 :blossom:

Full tent shot, all 3 ladies look happy.

Purple Diesel Daze starting to fill in the gaps at the top now. This has been a pleasure to grow, the stretch caught me off guard a bit as it was labeled as a medium size indica plant.
Not sure why I paid attention to the description, I don’t fully buy unto the whole Indica / Sativa thing anyway.
Purple Diesel Daze below.

Durban x Zkittles (DBZ) front right.
@supershitfuck tagging incase you were interested to see how these turned out!

First time growing this cross from CSI, and first time growing Durban or Zkittles genetics.
So I’m guessing the intense sweet and tangy smell is coming from the zkittles side. It smells exactly like a fresh opened pack, I just hope it tastes like the rainbow too :rainbow: :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Durban X Zkittles (DBZ) front left, again this has the sharpest and sweetest smell I’ve had on a plant.
The remaining seeds from this pack have definitely moved up my ‘pop list’.

And finally, this week I won a giveaway on Instagram from Banana Man of Trichome Jungle!
Cherry Soul fems & Cherry Spice regs.
These crosses were made using Bodhi’s Soul Mate, so if you know me, these are right up my street!

Hope everyone has been having a good week and a better weekend!

No shit, lol! I know folks that say they only smoke sativas, or won’t smoke sativas. By definition, anything cultivated is sativa… which pretty much seems like anything anybody I know can get. Indica is from India, nice if you can get it, lol! I just give them hybrids!

Narrow Leaf Drug (NLD) or Wide Leaf Drug (WLD) seems a much more accurate differentiation, but whadda I know?

Your garden’s looking tasty, :yum:

Thank you!! Haha glad someone else said it too  Now I’m sure some genetics have came from India, but let’s be honest, it’s very rare to have that nowadays. And like you say, it’s all ‘Cannabis Sativa’ really

Not sure if you’ve listened to it, but the guy from Indian Landrace Exchange, Irrazinig on IG, talks about this and how they prefer the NLD BLD (or WLD) classifications.

Thanks !! Can’t wait to chop em down.

The outdoor is coming along nice too!
Beans the size of my arms soon

Guy over on ICmag has just commented other day, said he’s grown those out and they’re great apparently, hasn’t given many details, but I can ask.

Green and mean Avery nice work. Thanks for the bokashi bran ingredients I’ll add it to the list.

I’ve had a zkittlez curing for a week or so now. Dank grapefruit smell and is very sticky and smooth with a cherry flavour on the back end. Surprisingly uplifting for indica dom. I’d def grow again.

Looks great!
And that’s what I like to hear! I’m getting excited for mine now.
How long did you take them? I’m thinking of chopping at around 63days. but we’ll see.

Around 65-70 days from memory. It stalled after topping for 2-3 wks then came good. I reckon another ten days would’ve been bang on. 70-75 days ill wait for next run.

Ah that’s good to know. I might let these go a little longer then.

Day 43 of flower :blossom:

Thought I’d give that ‘no lights, flash on’ picture a go.

They do look frostier like this to be fair :joy:

Not looking forward to this apparent heatwave were due in UK soon.
To keep temps down I might have to switch off some of the strips in the light.
Bonus of making my own light, it’s pretty much fully customisable, when it comes to how many strips I want on (anything from 1-8) or what spectrum (3000k, 4000k or mixture of both).

Spotted this on sale in a shop today, discounted a just a few £. So thought I’d puck it up and see what I can do with it…

Looking at it out of the box, it’ll basically be useless :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: the pot is aprox 500ml volume which is not great. But the LED is registering at about 150-200ppfd. So I could work for keeping a clone.

I’m thinking of removing the light and using it on a custom made pot.
But this now has me thinking about building a micro cupboard set up.

Coolies man I like picking up cool little gadget bargains. There was a church op shop sale across from where I was working yesterday. I picked up a spare coffee machine, guitar hero guitar in good condition an extra long pair of trim scissors and a recipe book for mrs herb all for $30! Score!!

Not a bad haul for $30!

I lose all sense of control when I enter a charity shop, or shop filled with random bargains.
I’m a bit of a horder, so I always think things will be useful at some point :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
I like to build and create contraptions too, so I usually do find a use for most of the crap keep.

Great thread man! Really glad I found it. I’m just getting into organic gardening and I’m doing a lot of the same stuff you are. I feel like our gardens/threads are on the same path. You may not always hear from me but I’ll be here, following along!:+1::fire:

Cheers,

Peace be the journey!
I appreciate you stopping by!

I’m still learning (as u expect I always will be) about organics. This style of growing just feels right for me.
And I like how, with the basics, it can be a very simple way to grow. But the more you delve into it, the more there is to learn.

Have you got a journal/grow diary going at the moment? I follow so many I loose track.

Feel free to post it up in here if you do, I’ll check it out.

For sure mate!, I never jived with coco and bottles so I’m glad to be learning a new style

Yes man! Right now I’m failing my way to success on home made biochar, home made bokashi grain with home made LAB and a worm bin! They are all at different degrees of success but I am having a great time learning. There is also some weed plants in there as well  if you get a chance come check it out - In the basement with Loggershands

Exciting times in Casa del Avery this weekend.
While clearing our a few boxes of crap from kitchen cupboard. I came across a jar that my Fiancé used to use, for keeping her ‘weekly’ smoke in, so she wouldn’t be opening an closing the main jars all the time.
As I picked the jar up, I heard a familiar rattle…
What do you!? 50 seeds and a few stems.

Turns out she picked these out of some bud and forgot to tell me :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
From the marking on the jar, I believe these seeds to be Purple Orange CBD x Soul Mate S1s
I’ll have to read back on my notes for these grows to see what exactly they are.

But I wasted no time in doing a germination test.
There were roughly 30 seeds that looked to be mature, and a further 20 that didn’t quite look as ready. So I’m soaking the 20 and if any of them start to pop tails I’ll know that the others should at least be viable.

Did some digging in my notes.
These are unfortunately not
Purple Orange CBD x Soul Mate s1s.
They are in fact my Gasoline Dreams f2s! (Strawberry Diesel x Soul Mate)

I’m so glad I still have these! (potentially, pending germination tests).
