Star dog 2024

As I was scrolling this thread of yours I started to notice the progressing morphology in the top flowers looking a bit off and thought that perhaps the lighting schedule was being interrupted somehow. I thought of your other thread about that one plant of yours not flowering so far into flower so it’s nice to read that you’ve sorted the issue. A benefit is that the uniquely timed schedule helps provide more insight into the genetics being grown and observed under those conditions. An insight into their genetics on display! Glad you got it sorted. Many blessings and much love

Thank you @Sbeanonnamellow It wouldn’t have been my 1st choice :joy: but there’s a silver lining to every cloud.

I know 1st hand now that 13/11 is fine for clones but maybe less so for starting seeds/seedlings.

While I was going over everything I also found the power from my spider farmer se300 was fluctuating between 217w and 290w.
The dimmers are horrifying quality so I switched the dimmer off and adjusted the driver to 250w.
Fwiw that’s 2x 250w.

I’ll know in future to check and double check then check again

Thank you.

Yeah that’s not going to fly,
The root ball is dying.
It needs some vegetation to keep transpiration going or its going to die.

So, yeah, sounds like your plant isn’t uptaking nutes from the system, not feeding in other words.

What is happening with your pH? Rising or Falling?

Is your plant drinking, water level falling?

EC static, water level falling & pH falling you’ve got reservoir problems.

I must apologise I’ve only just noticed your reply.

When I was saying “I’m a little concerned about having nothing above the root stock” I was talking about grafted shoots to a freshly harvested root ball.

It didn’t work, as expected the root ball died, it didn’t have any foliage to keep it transpiring.

Hello folk’s, well thankfully I’m about done with this crop.

So a few weeks back I prepared some seeds for another crop.

It’s a mixture of:
Blockbuster (cheese)
Lost skunk F2
Coco kush x lemon?
grape Fog x
7th Feb… I moved them into another tray they were getting a bit crowded.

I gave the seedlings 10/12 days @24hrs light then flipped them on Feb 27th.

They look great. Always fun to watch the next grow get cranked up. Amazing thread mate.

Hey bud, @greenmonster714 thank you, how things going for you?

I’ve made a start on harvesting today, here’s one of the seed plants, 14wks 12-12 seed to bud, 4wks of which was under t5s.

I’m pretty pleased with the result.

Cheers bud

And rightly so. Damn she got fat. I’m chugging along with a big tent grow and a scrog in the other. Keeping busy as they all head into flower.

So what ya think that girl will weigh in the end?

I’m not sure bud it’s difficult for me guesstimate that, there’s a good bit but it’s all one mass, I’d hope for 4/5oz maybe but i wouldn’t be surprised if i was out either way?

That’s about what I’d guess but in person and pics just ain’t the same…lol. Your definitely dialing in the 12/12 from seed method. Well it’s mostly all 12/12 except the first few weeks but damn the results are fine as hell.

With them high mass buds ya ever run into minor bud rot?

Surprisingly in my humidity it’s been years now since I’ve had bud rot.

it’s been the best part of a decade now. (touch wood)

I use a dehumidifier and keep air flowing 24hrs a day from around mid flower onwards, the fan only speeds up and slows down at night after that point.

To me that’s bout 46°f. Kinda chilly n damp for sure. I bet you pull a lot of fluid outta the air. You ever use that dehumidifier runoff for plants?

Great to hear you’ve got it whipped. I’ve never had it indoors but I’ve lost some zips outdoors.

Good lord! You grow the most monster buds brother

Thanks a lot guys I appreciate your comments.
My plan was to strip all the leafs today then cut them down tomorrow, I need to keep any smell inside the tent, it’s a pain but I can’t afford risk with the neighbour.

This is the other seed plant I was left with.

It grew a bit odd after the timer accident but if tastes good it’s still a pass👍

Og kush, buds on the leaf stalks mutation
(autopot)

It’s a pain to process but I can deal with that.

Edit…While I was harvesting I had a look at the root systems and they all still have actively growing roots.

I knew roots grew late into flower I didn’t realise they actively grow until the end?

I run my inline in tent w/carbon filter on 10. Then set up a second inline fan w/carbon filter in my room near the door, running on high. Turn off the central air, close all the vents. Snacks & drinks get stocked in room. I got wide-mouth OJ container for peeing. Then I don’t leave that room until everything is bagged up 10hrs later.

You got any other tricks?

Sanitizing Wipes for hand or hands after peeing? yuk

I switch latex gloves obviously, I have to take them off to pee (or else my junk would stick to the gloves). Sanitize, then new gloves. I promise you my Monk-like lifestyle is cleaner than yours  I go through a 64oz Purel every 2 weeks.

Hey bud, ah right so you’re in a similar situation then, you’ll know how much it sucks lol.

I do a similar thing with my ventilation running flat out when I’m working I’ve also got a 5" rhino fan/filter I use as a portable scrubber outside to catch any stray odours, omg neighbours are stressful!

Working inside the tent makes a big difference, I went for a cup of tea when came back after 3/4 mins I couldn’t smell a thing.

Something I thought of in regards to avoiding rot…if you have high humidity at lights off the quick change in temperature can cause dew to form on the buds, if my dehumidifier isn’t running constantly I’ll have it set to come 5min before the light goes off, that way the changes in temperature are slowed down and any moisture is being removed.

Tip, keep a tub of talcum powder handy, it’s great when take your gloves off to dry your hands, it’s also great if your hands are sticky.

Fwiw in the fight against rot or/and humidity a 150w dehumidifier creates the same heat as a 150w heater (± 0.3c)
However the dehumidifier is also taking care of humidity at the sametime, £ for £ a dehumidifier is a much better option.

@greenmonster714 hey bud, yes I’ve used dehumidifier water in the plants a couple times, it’s only been to dilute nutrient further and it’s been fine.

Cheers guys

Hello folk’s, I swapped out the 96w of t5s for 135w of led.
The t5s aren’t enough to cover the seedlings effectively at edges.

I’ve got the light as hight as it’ll go and I’m getting a reading of just over 20k lux at the canopy, let’s see what happens?
