STS vs. CS Side by Side Comparison

Yes…cali connection pre98-bubba fem. seeds

Oo! You could always take a clone. Root it quickly, then spray, flip, and continue to treat.
That’ll keep it small, but pollinate the whole thing.
And use her to pollinate others.

I was thinking something like that too. I usually don’t like to let plants get to big…but letting them bulk up is probably best. I may have to leave the pre98 project until spring.

From my experience you can select where to reverse. I’ve selfed a plant to itself, not its clone successfully.

I used an eye dropper to this this.

Any idea what the active chemical is? What colour were the crystals? I’ve used cobalt chloride a few times and it’s a one application process. It kills the primary tip though and then the secondaries throw lots of balls.

How much spray does this kit make

More than you could ever need.

What is the best way to get good seeds with the STS method for an auto-flower, i will get 2 auto-flower plants same strain , induce one with STS and get pollen, then put pollen on a another same strain plant , or use one auto flower and use STS on lower half of the plant to get pollen and pollinate the top half of same plant with its own pollen. I ordered some Gorilla Cookies Auto femenized from seedsman i am going to use.

thanks. im a newbie at this and i just ordered all items to make the sts mix. Also im in the bay area

Start the plant that you will reverse about three weeks before the one that you plan to pollinate.

The one that is treated with STS will self-pollinate and produce S1 seeds. Note: any parts of this plant that’s been treated with silver thiosulfate cannot be consumed in any way.

The other plant that is three weeks behind the revesal will be pollinated by the reversed plant and produce the next filial generation of seeds. These flowers can be used after you have removed the beans.

Best of luck to ya!

Oh yeah, here’s a good video. I can guarantee that if you follow these steps, your STS will work.

I’ve still hot like 800ml of stock solution in the back of the fridge. Don’t forget to dilute it! Lol
I did five treatments. Each one five days apart. The first one was right before the auto started to flower.
Pollen sacks everywhere! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

do you think the CS did damage to the clone because of it’s higher than normal (ppm) concentration?
if the CS had been a lower dosage (50 instead of 240) would there have been less damage to the plant?

Thanks truly appreciate it

Hi @Til_Valhalla,
I’m thinking this question is for me and my answer from personal experience and what others have said is that CS at lower concentrations isn’t as reliable as STS. The higher concentration (commercially produced) CS works more consistently but is harder on the plants.

Not everyone may agree, but that’s what I saw.

Hope this is helpful,

thanks for response.

i have yet to try and reverse a plant.
i have some CS, but at a higher concentration like your experiment.

thanks for posting this. visual references help.

Got the stuff, just need to wait 2-3 weeks to mix and spray my little girl

The stock solution will stay good in the fridge for quite sometime. So long as it isn’t exposed to light. My jar is wrapped in foil.
I just pull out small amounts and dilute to a finished solution when I want to use it.

yes, im going to mix half the batch, because i will not use to much…
I am going to mix
.04 G …Silver Nitrate + 250 ml Distilled water part A
1.58 G… Sodium Thiosulphate Anhydrous + 250 ml Distilled water Part B
anyone think its not a good idea let me know.

thanks everyone

I wouldn’t adjust the @sebring recipe.
He knows it’s also a large batch. But, he’s done the research.

I followed the Sebring method 2 yrs ago on 2 White Widow auto fems. I sprayed with STS just before they went into flower, then sprayed 2 more times. Both plants self-pollenated, and I think many of the seeds have been spread to some fellow OGers via various auctions and giveaways. I’d say I harvested maybe 400-500 seeds, and they were small plants, maybe 2ft tall.

I still have an enormous amount of Parts A&B that have been stored in the spare fridge, wrapped in black plastic bags. It’s now 2yrs old.
I also have some excelite that hasn’t been used yet, but is over 1yr old.

I popped 3 Cap Junky seeds and 2 Northern Thunderfuck seeds. I’d like to reverse both strains, and have plants self pollinate.

Both target strains are among this batch of seedlings.

(Note the goofy looking ABC and SuperFreak …smh. I’ve got maybe 6 of each of those. Will probably just trash all but 2.)

I probably won’t spray these for another month, maybe 2. I want the plants to have some size to them.
