STS vs. CS Side by Side Comparison

I am on the side of Colloidal Silver when creating feminized pollen. I truly believe home brewing my own silver solution, being partly Colloidal and mostly ionic, produces better pollen sacs. Does anyone think S.T.S. Is better, or just slightly faster? I spray over a half gallon during a 3 week span. I turn the whole tops of my donors.

With STS - I barely use any over the same time frame.

I’m with @Trickster on this one.

I used 50-60ml of my homemade STS solution(the @Sebring method) to get a full reversal on this large Scarlet Grapes autoflower.

I don’t think that STS is faster or creates better pollen, I just think it’s not as rough on the plants. I haven’t used CS, but it looks like you have to apply it more often. I used STS 3 times, 3 days apart and it didn’t damage the plant at all

I’d say that my plants look pretty dang good. The difference is that true Colloidal silver is damaging and homemade is not Colloidal but suspended silver particles in an ionic stasis. Some technical shit like that. I like brewing mine overnight, and foliar spraying the entire tops. Just because my generator has paid for itself.10x

It’s the same thing

Your plants look great. I was talking about plants that look like the one in the first post. You seem to have CS reversing down and I wouldn’t change a thing if you’re comfortable with it. How often do you spray?

I spray 2 days before flip, and then twice a day. this particular plant had been in pre-flower for acouple weeks before I started the reversal. Still worked. Of all the plants i have reversed. i must say I have seen balls at day 21. Does this timeline match up to STS also?

I just went back through my pictures and it looks like the first ones came in right at 21 days, just like yours. I’ve only done it one time before, but I’m hoping to do a couple more within the next year

I agree with that @itza419, in multiple reversals I’ve seen male flowers after four weeks of spraying every 3-4 days. I usually see pollen drop about two weeks later.

I’m not the only one confused by that comment.

Can you elaborate on the difference and the CS generator you use that gives you better results?

I tend to use commercial STS because I trust in the consistency of a dated and lab tested product. That’s not a slam on anyone, I just don’t want any uncertainties I can avoid, and the expense is trivial in the overall cost of growing.

I also used commercial CS in the OP test. It was the strongest concentration I could find, and that certainly affected the effect it had on the plants.

Do you know the PPM concentration of your CS? Is every batch consistent?

Many ways to reach the Reversal goal, and lots of unknowns to grapple with…

In spite of what’s been said on the internet, both metallic silver suspensions and ionic silver suspensions are “colloidal silver.” After all, they’re both composed of tiny particles of silver suspended homogeneously and indefinitely in a liquid solution.

The big difference between the two is that the metallic form of colloidal silver is composed of tiny, bare metal particles of elemental silver, while the ionic form of colloidal silver is composed of tiny positively-charged atomic or molecular particles of silver that have been liberated from metallic silver using low-voltage electricity.

Both are “colloids,” with the bare metal elemental silver suspension being a metallic colloid, and the ionic silver suspension being a colloidal electrolyte (due to the electrically charged atomic and molecular particles of silver).

This is why both forms – metallic and ionic – have been universally called “colloidal silver” for the past 100-plus years, until only recently when purveyors of the metallic form began claiming only theirs could be called a “true colloid.” It’s a great marketing gimmick. But scientifically speaking, the claim is a farce.
The metallic silver suspensions are colloids. And the ionic silver suspensions are colloids.

Here it is @PsillyRabbit

I remember someone mentioning somewhere , some one injected the STS with a syringe, I can not seem to find the Thread…
Any help in finding it is appreciated …

Here it is:

I’ve been meaning to try this method myself but forgot about it. You may have just inspired me to finally order some silver nitrate to give this a try! lol
