I go straight from plant right through to the final manicure in one sitting. Pluck off all the fans and cut it into individual limbs. Then using a trimbin, clip until finished.
Oh mother mary I couldn’t even watch that malicious attack on those buds. how many Trichomes get knocked off the buds. I hate trimming too but I just can’t bring myself to do it.
I moved to the 2 stage trim as well after my 5th or 6th time and it’s definitely the way to go! I like the idea of the piece of plastic to catch the scissor hash. Will be incorporating that into my trim jail sessions now. You forgot the podcast/laptop with movie playing or some stand up comedy! Need that… or I’ll go crazy haha. Got 2 monsters outside right now and not looking forward the amount of time it’s going to take to trim those beasts.
Now that I’ve gone back and read some of the responses I forgot to say that for my autos out side I do a pretty good pluck everyday for a few days leading up to chop. Then at chop I get rid of all the fan leaves and keep just the sugar leaves. Seems to really make the trimming task a lot easier. Best buds for bag appeal IMO are wet trimmed buds as close as possible but that’s a lot of work! Typically I’ll leave a good amount on for drying and gently just brush that stuff off.
Recently switched to the chikamasa B500 coated pruners. They are amazing. Super sharp, comfy handle, and resin doesn’t stick to the blades like un-coated stainless.
I agree. Bought a stick of Durban Poison and 1/8 Green Crack from two different shops. Neither were nearly as good as my home grown, hand trimmed Durban P. or a friends Green C. I understand the need for speed in commercial growing, but commercial can’t compete with connoisseur quality home grown, when grown organically with care.
Maybe you had better luck with the trim tray I personally think they suck . My weed is way too sticky for anything to fall through the screen . After hours of trimming only a small amount made it through just a little yellow dust .
